Huge thanks to AskDrTodd and his dad for arranging this for me. The aroma is vanilla, chocolate, nuts, and more - it reminds me of a chocolate brownie! The flavor is chocolate, vanilla, and obvious roasted malts as well. The flavor is a bit harsher than the aroma via the roast, but it’s really not bad!

32oz growler provided by DuffManSW. Rating #89. Dark brown with a red hue to it and a light brown head that spread out fairly quickly. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla very nice. More sweet chocolate and a touch of vanilla are well represented in this one , very tasty stuff. (1197)

The aroma of sweet vanilla soda to sum it up. The appearance is rich, dark, and clear with a creamy decent head. The flavor of vanilla and smoky notes on top of a crisp brown ale. It is very smooth, the kind you could drink for a while.

Served from a growler thanks to Caleb while waiting in line at the Veritas 007 release. The appearance is a nice amber brown with a white head. The flavors and aromas are rich with creamy vanilla, toasted malts, and a hint of caramel. The mouth was very creamy but lacked some carbonation underneath, I guess this could of been from the growler. Overall a solid brew.

Tap and growler. Great vanilla and malt aroma, carrying over to the flavor. There is a chocolaty/vanilla/coffee flavor that is just wonderful and creamy.

Growler via trade thanks to Sebletitje. Glad to try another brown ale from the brewery that IMO does the style best. Pours cloudy chestnut brown with a thick, creamy light yellow-beige head that lasts. Good lacing. Aroma is nice and sweet. Lots of vanilla, along with sweet caramel, wood, and nuts. Flavor is fairly sweet and very complex. Caramel and toffee malt notes, chestnut and other nuts, LOADS of vanilla, wood (was this -bal aged?), chocolate, and molasses. Crazy stuff. Palate is exceedingly smooth and creamy, with medium-full body. Really sticks with you. It’s almost unfair to classify this as a brown ale, but if you do, it’s great for the style. Drinkable and really enjoyable overall.

From growler, huge thanks to Plovmand for sharing. Dark brown colour. Sweet aroma of roasty malt and vanilla with caramel and some chocolate. Good pleasant mouthfeel. The flavour is sweet with toasty malt and vanilla, caramel, some chocolate and nuts. Nice brew indeed.

sampled on tap at cigar city. Just about clear copper/brown in color with a off white head. Aroma of fresh vanilla bean, caramel, light chocolate. Taste has caramel/molasses with a good amount of vanilla bean flavor. Bittering hops are light, sweetness is moderate. It’s really cool to see a brewery doing so many variations on a brown ale....a style which is perceived by alot of people (and I’m guilty of this myself) as being so ordinary.
