3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ProofBrewing. Aroma is remarkably similar to the original maduro, very little vanilla present. Taste is light mix of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, with a roasted taste present as well. Still a remarkably light beer given the dark aray of flavors, and overall very pleasant. Not typically a fan of brown ales but this one was quite nice.

Draft at Mekong. Pours dark brown with a thin khaki head. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Nice vanilla and roasted nut notes on the nose. The vanilla hits first on the tongue with the malt coming through next. Finished clean. Solid example of style.

Growler. Pours opaque cola brown with a thick and frothy pale buff head; a peep of daylight gets through at the bottom. Aroma has notes of roast malt, caramel and - yes - vanilla. Toasty malt dominates the flavor but lets vanilla, caramel, and a snip of hops share the gustatory stage. Body is average, fizz is lacking; but finish is flavorful with toasty malt and vanilla notes. Try this vanilla and see if itís a thrilla.

I had this at Mad Pub on Nitro Tap. Pours dark brown with a off white head. Taste malt, vanilla, nutty. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

On tap at the cafe. cCB in Valdosta? Nice! Solid sweet brown. Cola colored. Aroma is solidly vanilla with a cocoa and oak presence as well. Lighter body with plenty of vanilla and toffee sweetness. Medium malt body, tasty.
