Pours dark mahogany leaning towards oily with a small brown head. A earthy woodsy aroma. Flavor of burnt coffee and campfire. My only implant is that it finishes a little more bitter than I would like. (on a side note I had already drank 5 other beers first so this might require a rerate)

Now that the weather is getting milder, do yourself a favor and run out and get a 6 pack of this. A nice rich deep color, with a taste that will complement, as the name states, any deep and rich cigar. Also can see this as a desert beer.

Now that the weather is getting milder, stop what your doing and pick up a 6 pack of this ale. Very dark appearance, with a taste that would complement any bold cigar, as the name states. Just delicious. P.S. Dangit I rated the wrong one, this was for the regular maduro brown.

Good head with tight foaming crown. Dark amber clear body with mellow carmel and nut flavors. Great smooth tasting malts with a hint of hops on finish.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2012 Pours brown with a large, fluffy tan head. Smells strongly of malts, hints of chocolate and coffee, with a nice oatmeal smell. Tastes malty, chocolate, hints of coffee, and some roasted characteristics are thrown in, with a hint of smokiness; sweet, but not super sweet. Medium-bodied with a smooth, gummy, almost wet texture and mild mouth-carbonation, Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale finishes with almost a stout-like sweetness.

Bottle from beersofeurope.com. This is a brown ale and it lives up to that tag by being at once both an ale and brown. Dark brown at that. Almost black, in fact. The bottle smoked impressively when I took the top off and then poured with an immense head which wasn’t completely down to my lack of pouring skills. In short: a great looking beer. Delicious aroma, too - great wafts of warm coffee and sweet malts long before it came anywhere near my nose. Taste is very complex - first sensation is fizz on the tongue, giving way to the expected coffee and malt; then bitter, then sweet with chocolate and oats, then a long smokey aftertaste but pleasant like a cigar. I like to think of myself as a harsh reviewer - my average is less than 3.0 after almost 300 beers - but it’s hard to know where to fault this; perhaps the mouthfeel is a little too lively and fizzy like cola but I think even that is a little harsh. An immense beer and the new standard bearer for me.

(Bottle) Pours dark reddish brown with a creamy nougat coloured head. The aroma is FANTASTIC – complex nuttiness, fresh coconut, mild cocoa, milk chocolate, soft dark fruits, cookie dough, light caramel, wet earth, tobacco, vanilla, herbal/earthy/light grassy hops, light cheese, mild coffee powder and tiny perfume – that’s it. Fat, robust and round yet malty elegant. Maybe something limey that reminds me of Thai food. I absolutely adore the nose. The flavor is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a tiny acidic sting on the finish. Tones of nuts, mild roast, milk chocolate/soft cocoa powder, light fruity, vanilla, cookie dough and light yeast. Really good hop profile in the flavour as well, maybe just a touch more citrus notes if you compere it to the nose. The mouthfeel is surprisingly round (considering the %) soft, velvety yet clean. Near medium carbonation. Fancy and smooth malt and well-balanced hop on the finish. Near medium bodied. Thank you Cigar City!

Rewelacja smakowa. Polecam.

An Awesome beer! Got a glass @ Wine World, first glass from the keg. Pours dark brown with a caramel head. Chocolate, caramel, and coffee on the tongue with a "cigar mouth" finish.
