COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A hearty brown ale that benefits from the silky mouthfeel provided by oatmeal, pairs great with Cigars.

First try from Cigar City via secret online resource. -Hmmm...for me, this is quite underwhelming. I understand this wasn’t brewed to be so "in your face," but I find it thin and not very interesting. I’m not worried, I know Cigar City has excellent stuff and I have a small sample of their lineup in my fridge. So, this is ordinary--enough said.

355 ml. bottle. Hazy, red-brown colour with a golden tint. Huge, fluffy off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel, nuts, toasted malts, yeast and fruity notes. Light sweet taste. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Very pleasent palate. Finishes dry with hints of bread, coffee and brown sugar. Nice brown ale that left an impressively large chunk of foam at the bottom of my glass.

Hazy dark ruby amber with a head that quickly disappears, and tiny dots of lace that are also missing before the finish. Taste is malt with raisins and dark dried fruit, mixed with hazelnut. Taste grows through the palate, moving to a finish that ends with a whimper rather than lingering in a satisfying way. I expected better.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma of fig, toffee, and apple. Taste has plenty of toffee, some bready malts and apple, with a dry hoppy finish. Decent but my least favourite from Cigar City so far.

Can [12oz] shared with HogTownHarry, JoeMcPhee, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o HogTownHarry. Pours a deep amber-brown with an average size diminishing frothy beige head. Mild aroma of toasted caramel malt and nuts. Flavour also of caramel malt and nuts along with toffee and an earthy finish. Average bodied. Meh, I’m not a fan of the style but this is just O.K.

2013-04-12. Ruby brown body with a small beige Head 3+ Very dry aroma with notes of roasty toasty malt. Flavour is similar, modest dry malt, sweeter, lightly nutty. Whispers of strawberry Ovaltine in the background may be my imagination? Average to light bodied palate is smooth. 3+ Decent but not particularly exciting. Can shared by HogTownHarry
