Old tasting note from first Hunahpu release. I liked the Zhukov’s bourbon/brandy more than the Hunahpu’s - though I don’t have a lot of info (long day of drinking) - 8.0

Bottle at Papsø. Entered as my rating no. 3900. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. The aroma is heavy roasted with notes of coffee, chocolate and light bourbon. The flavour is roasted malt, coffee, bourbon, chocolate and light tobacco. Very intense and thick.

Shared by Daknole during his Final4 tasting. Bottle pours black with a beige head. Aroma shows notes of dark chocolate, heavy roasted malt, vanilla, bourbon and a hint of dark fruit. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of oak and molasses covered marshmallows. This thing was definately a beast! Thanks Dak as usual!

Shared by Dak @ his Final Four Tasting. Squid ink pour with a dark caramel head. The glass literally looked like it was filled with cola after the brew was gone...stained it like crazy. Aroma showed tons of baker’s chocolate, rich roasted coffee, bourbon, vanilla, and char. Flavor is filled with sweet bourbon, dark fruit, molasses, burnt caramel, toasted marshmallow, and vanilla. Chewy...and I’m sure my tongue is near black after drinking this. Yum!

Handbottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Pitch balck - brown bubbles. Chocolate, fruity, berries, cocoa, bourbon, wooden, lakridskonfekt, whiskey, oiley, acid notes, high malty, high sweetness, dark chocolate. Lovely.

Handbottled from tap. Pitch black coloured with a small beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, bourbon and vanilla. Sweet and roasted flavour of caramel, dark chocolate, bourbon and vanilla. Dry roasted finish.

Handbottle. Pours pitch black and dark brown head. Aroma is dark malty, liqourice and whisky. Dark malty and whisky. Smooth malty and dark roasted malty. Smooth and dark malty into the far finish.

Bottled . A pitch black beer with a thin dark brown head. The aroma has notes of soy sauce, bourbon, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, wood, and bourbon, leading to a dry roasted, woody finish.

Bottled (Four Roses barrel). Pitch black coloured. Dense dark brown head. Aroma of vanilla, bourbon, light roast, cocoa, chocolate, some liqourice and coffee. Flavour of vanilla, roast, liqourice, bourbon, chocolate, coffee. Medium to full bodied. Has a roasted and spiced bitterness in the end.

Handbottle 33 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Comes as "Cigar City Four Roses Barrel Aged Marshal Zhukov’s Imperial Stout". Pours pitch, pitch black with a tiny brown head. Hard roast in the nose but the sweet vanilla notes dominate - brown licorice allsorts. Very solid body, hardly any carbonation, pours thick and syrupy - motormoil almost. Again sweet Bourbon notes, vanilla and dark fruits. Some alcohol heat in the finish. 270411
