Draft. Pours a black body with an off white head. Creamy rich vanilla notes with a light bourbon tone. Roast y chocolate with a nice modest etoh warming. Roast y dry coffee tones, some silky chocolate hints, with a drying finish. Very light barrel, fantastic recipe tho i’d rather the cedar, thats the shit!

Tap @ Rattle n’ Hum. Poured black. The aroma was excellent a mix of vanilla, brown sugar, wood, and sweet roasted. All blended but distinct. Bourbon and vanilla flavor with a sweet roasted malt base. Medium bodied and silky on the tongue. Warming.

Draft at RnH. Pours near black with a brown head. Roasty aroma with dark chocolates and a bourbony sweetness. The flavor is way roasty and almost smoky, with a solid bourbon sweetness and lighter espresso notes. Very good, my favorite of the night.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 zdk (1625) - New York, New York, USA - FEB 21, 2010
Tap @ RnH event - molasses, dark sugar, prune, though carbonation is sprightly. Dark bitter chocolate with some bitterness. Huge woody presence and smokey bourbon. not quite as good as the BA Hunahpu.

dark brown/black, boozy flavor, some notes of soy.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 italarican (885) - Astoria, New York, USA - FEB 20, 2010
Tap at the Rattle n’ Hum Cigar City event. Deep black pour. The aroma is primarily pipe smoke and cedar chest. The smoke and wood spice get in the way of anything else that may be in the nose. The flavor reveals more: chocolate malt, coffee, and pine hops. Never got a hint of bourbon. Moderately creamy body. The wood spice lingers. Very woody and delicious.

Draft at Rattle N Hum Cigar City event. For a bourbon barrel aged beer this one could of used a hell of a lot more aging. I was getting no bourbon in either the aroma nor the flavor. Overall a great Impy Stout but as a bourbon barrel aged beer this one was a lousy example.

Cigar City Takes NYC event at Rattle ’N’ Hum. on Tap.This thick mouthfeel, with bourbon aromas. Still very good, but you must like bourbon.

On tap at Rattle N Hum for their Cigar City event. This and the BA Hunahpu’s were first on my list to try and both were great. Pours black, viscous, thick dense dark tan head. Faint wood, bourbon on the nose, rich deep chocolate and roast. Smooth chocolate mousse. Long crisp bitterness, lingering roast on the finish. Another delicious one.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 TheMantle (37) - New York, USA - FEB 17, 2010
Had on tap at Rattle N Hum.
Aroma is of heavy bourbon , along with bitter chocolate, sweet malts and caramel. Taste is heavy in bourbon and suprisingly sweet. Lots of roasty malts and some chocolate, and possibly a hint of some candied green apple. Finishes sweet and bourbony with a hint of warming alcohol
