Tap at Hunahpu 2011 as "Apple Brandy Zhukov". The pour is quite fantastic generating a much more lively Martian red head than the other treatments, or maybe someone just knew how to pour a beer. Incredible retention. Very scary looking in the cup. Aroma is so much more apple than I was expecting (DUH!), but instead of calvados or brandy per se, I get fresh apple skins, apple juice box, and sweet cider apples. Taste is lemony tart, tannic, and feels light bodied compared to the oily 4 Roses treatment. Spicy alcohol comes through for a quick second. The lemon tart and roast character remind me a little of 110K+OT #2.

Draft @ CCB. Incredible apple cider nose stands out clean and fresh. Hard to believe how well the apple comes through on the nose of this otherwise powerful imperial stout. In the flavor the apple and sweet roastiness of the stout sit side by side. Amazing beer but Iím not entirely sure how well the apple and roast mesh or complement each other.

The beer of beers. My new absolute favorite. Quite boozy, apple flavor from start to finish. Just beautiful and utterly drinkable.

On tap at Cigar City, Hunahpu day 2011. Wow, this is delicious, aroma has a sweet background of apples, very malt forward with the brandy slowly taking hold as it lingers. This was so good, amazing. World class, I want to try the Hunahpu version but Iím not sure much could pass this one.

Created from their Marshall Zhukovís Imperial Stout, itís jet black in color, with big notes of expresso and dark chocolate balanced by roasted malt, vanilla beans, and peppery spices. Thereís a nice brandy backbone from the barrel aging. One of the best imperial stouts on the planet. http://www.billysbeerblog.com/2010/12/e

Zhukov - #2000!† Just another reason why drowland kicks ass. So dark, very dark appearance with a tannish-brown head. Legs that go forever. Aroma is plenty of alcohol, warm chocolate notes and brownies. Bits of coffee shines through. Aroma of rich pecans come through as it warms. Taste is all kinds of warming flavors. Roasted chocolate mixes with hot brandy. Tingles on the tongue big time. Coats the tongue with itís thickness. Wow, hot finish. Very very good!

Hand bottle courtesy of a trade with fata2683. Pours a dense black with no head. The carbonation is gone but that in no way detracts from this beer, in fact, I think it enhances it. Very pleasant aroma of brandy, roasted malt, coffee, and bittersweet chocolate. The flavor is equally enjoyable with the same brandy, roasted malt, coffee and bittersweet chocolate. The brandy influence becomes stronger towards the finish. Dense and full bodied. Without the carbonation, this drinks more like a rich, full-bodied cabernet than a beer, and I like it. Moderate bitterness with some noticeable alcohol heat at the finish. Very nice!

Thanks to savvy1982 for the share! Pours like motor oil. The aroma has brandy, oak, butter, biscuits, toffee, chocolate and butterscotch. The flavor is incredible. Smoke, chcolate, butter, brandy ash, biscuit, licorice, butterscotch, oak, and vanilla. Fantastic stuff!

Bottle from drowland. Pour is oily and dark with a brown head. Aroma is tons of coffee, plenty of alcohol, and nice chocolate. Taste is alcohol, nuts, coffee, a tiny bit of chocolate, and more alcohol.
