Bottle with courtesy of Papsø, thanks! Pours pitch black with no head. The aroma is quite smooth with notes of dark roasted malt, caramel, dark chocolate, a little coffee and soy, tobacco, vanilla and raisins. Roasted mouthful with dark bitter chocolate, coffee, caramel, soy, vanilla and a hint of alcohol.

29-MAR-2011, bottle @Papsø tasting. Black with almost no (but dark brown) head. Sweet bourbon nose. Taste is sweet, very sweet. Roasted, bourbon-like. Comes out a bit light bodied because of the lack of carbonation. Over the top oak aged. Looking forward to the "regular".

Flaska hos Papsoe.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of Sean9689. Pours pitch black with no head - pours like motor oil. Heavy dark roast, licorice and tobacco. Solid body, completely flat, massive roast and tobacco, some liquor accents but not that distinctive. Some heavy roast in the finish. Nice - but flat indeed. 290311

This bottle was shared by the ever generous Sean....A oily black pour with no carbonation, none. Strangely though there is some really nice stickly lacing, brown head all over the glass as your drink it...A super sweet aroma that does display both bourbon and brandy characters. Lots apple brandy and vanilla, chocolate cuts them both on the finish...The taste also displays both barrels, sweet chocolate, burnt coffee, lots of sweet brandy and oak. The double barrel concept is something worth exploring more as this showed off some nice things. A huge improvement on the original MZ, worth trying for sure.
