On draft at Cigar City for Zhukov release. Poured a pitch black with a huge bourbon aroma. Has a nice sweetness, vanilla, chocolate, molasses, and nice boozy aftertaste. I wish they would bottle this stuff.

On draft at Pourhouse (Tampa, FL). Pours pitch black with dark tan head. Aroma is intoxicating -- loads of sweetness, vanilla, booze, bourbon, chocolate, toffee, molasses, general goodness. Flavor is even better than the nose, even though I couldnt believe it -- chewy with all kinds of sweetness, chocolate, toffee, dark fruits, vanilla, oak, whisky. Full body with a big sweet malty chocolate whisky finish. By far this is likely my favorite CCB beer to date. Hope they make some more.

Cheers to Joey for breaking out this one and bringing it to the drink local PourHouse event. Great brew for a great bar. A: Pours uber black, evil, with no light penetration. Very small head with little retention. No lace but this one coats the glass like no other. S: Bold roasted malt with hints of coffee and chocolate. The barrel is rather bold. Lots of oak, vanilla, coconut, and booooze. T: Boozy Zhukov goodness. The barrel imparts tons of whiskey goodness with strong notes of oak and vanilla. The wonderful zhukov undertones are there but the barrel really stands out on this one. M: Very full in body, bold, rich, smooth, bad ass. D: Very nice to sit down and sip on for a bit. I knew this was a one off so I drank it until I was drunk. Really tasty beer. Grab some of the Palm Ridge Reserve Whiskey if you can find it as well.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2010 On tap at the Tampa Pours House Drink Local event pouring up inky void staining the glass with infrared edges and thin mocha head. The aroma, as it finally warms up, gets punchy to yummy with sweet whiskey, then caramel candy, wood, chocolate and vanilla all blending boldly together. After a few more draws additional notes are noticed like coconut, nuttiness, dark roasted malts, some burnt malts, a thin layer of dark roasted coffee and lingering rich dark chocolate boozy heat at the end of the draw. The mouthfeel enters smooth and velvety and dries out a tad toward the finish. The taste starts with a smooth slick rush of sweet whiskey and wavy layers of chocolate caramel covered wood. By midway it picks up bold dark roasted malts, burnt malts and more chocolate notes while the smooth sweet whiskey begins to fade away along with aged mellow wood notes. This attains a pleasing balance between rich velvety chocolate, sweet boozy whiskey and wood as well as roasty to burnt malts. Well done with spot on barrel time for my taste.

On tap @ Pourhouse Drink Local night. Poured jet black with cascading deep brown thin, quickly disapating head. Nose was big whiskey notes, dark chocolate, burnt coffee, sweet molasses, dried wood, earthy hops, charred grains and a hint of smoke. Flavor was ridiculous smooth, boozy whiskey, sweet black strap molasses, earthy grains, smoked malt, rich coffee, cocoa and warming alcohol. Could there be a bigger badder homer juice? A FL brewery aged in a barrel from a FL distiller, beauty!
