4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottled August 31, 2012. Served at cellar temperature. HUGE thanks to Mark for this treat!
Pours incredibly thick and black with without a doubt the darkest head I’ve ever seen on a stout. Leaves some lacing and recedes to a wispy cap and ring.
Aroma is really rich deep dark roasted malts, dark chocolate, espresso and gourmet coffee, dark fruits, rum-soaked raisins, figs, dates, anise, molasses, hint of smoke. Good to very good strength.
Flavor is espresso, serious coffee, dark chocolate, raisins, figs, burnt roasted malts, smoke, anise, molasses, caramel, toffee, fairly sweet, alcohol is there but fits in perfectly for a beer of this size. Unbelievably rich and complex.
Mouthfeel is full-on full-bodied, thick, chewy, sticky, eat it with a fork. Perfect.
Freakin’ fantastic. This is right up my alley. The thicker the better when it comes to Imperial Stouts...I find Ten FIDY to be a little to thin for my tastes...this one delivers. So rich. So complex. Tons of espresso and chocolate as well as boatloads of overripe dark fruits. My only bottle...I will cherish and savor this one and hope to land more in the future.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
75cl bottle, looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, nice brownish head. Starts intense malty, oily, hints of vanilla. Not as roasty-scratchy as other Imperial Stouts. Finish spicy, malty, interesting note of pepper. Very well balanced finish and quite drinkable for its strength. A great beer!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours jet black with a sticky mocha brown foam head that dissipates. The aroma is of roasted chocolate malts, minor rauch notes, sugary aromas, mild toffee, espresso like scents, cocoa, and minor hop tones. In tasting I picked up on roasted malt, rich bitter cocoa, sweet sugary molasses, coffee, and a mild toffee flavor. The finish was full of sweetness, bitter cocoa, and a pleasant roasted malt taste that lingers nicely. Overall a very rich beverage and a unique stout that is worth consuming.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Refrigerated brown 75 cl bottle, bottled on 7/11/13, poured into a snifter. Pours coal black with medium dark brown head. Aroma is chocolate malt, thick body, medium carbonation, and some small bubble lacing. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate, some herbal hops, and dry finish. Good quality, but not as complex some others for the style.

This is one the best stouts out there made by one of the best up and coming breweries. Wish they sent more up this way to southeast Georgia.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black with mocha head with a reddish tint on the edges. Nose of toasty malt and berry. Body is smooth and medium. Taste is sweet but we’ll balanced with roasted malt. Some bitter dark chocolate in the finish.

4.7 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Very dark black pour with a dark tan head. Very roasty aromas, coffee, cocoa, even some toasted oak notes (even though it isn’t barrel aged whoa), toffee, and caramel as well. Flavor is sweet roasted malt upfront with cocoa and molasses as well. Smooth and rich finish. So well balanced and complex. One of the best Imperial Stouts I have ever had. Thanks for sharing the CCB bottles Tyler!

Black in the glass with a dark cola colored head. Very dark roasted malt flavor. Coffee, and cocoa. Dark cocoa aroma... very solid. Overall a very delicious brew. Thanks to BarZigKin for his generosity!
