COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The recipe for this stout (10% ABV, brewed with raisins and spice) was conceived by Wayne Wambles, Head Brewer at Cigar City Brewing and brewed in collaboration with Mikkeller. This is the Oak version that was for sale on Hunahpu’s Day 2011. Not treated in a Rum Barrel. Beer went directly into a just virgin oak barrel.

Pours jet black with a paperthin mocha head, visibly viscous. Aroma of vanilla, dark chocolate, roast. Taste follows with some added caramel notes. Slightly sweet but the oak and roast balance. Excellent beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured dark black, aromas of raisins, oak, vanilla, prunes and some roast. Flavors are the same with some dark fruits coming though. It was hot outside and this was real enjoyable.

Growler courtesy for ericandersnavy. Pitch black with a ring of tan head. Tons of oak in the nose with roasted malt and some raisin. Chocolate and oak mix together wonderfully creating a very unique brew.

5/1/11 almost black. thick. low slow carbonation. vinous aroma... also, chocolate chips, bandaids, smoke (throughout and annoying), wood, oats and roast. the palate is pretty frikkin sweet.... stop with the sugar already... it tastes like choc-o-bloc chocolate flavored port wine...ugh. at least the bandaid note isn’t in the flavor. it is thick, syrupy and cloying. low carbonation doesn’t help it any. 7/4/4/2/13--

Growler thanks to Scotchzi: Poured deep black oil with almost no head. Aroma is nice oak with loads of dark fruit, hints of chocolate. Taste has dark fruit with oak and alcohol burn.

(Growler thanks to ericandersnavy) black as oil with frothy dark tan head that lasts forever. This coats the glass like oil. Nose of peanut butter, grape, raisins, rich chocolate and mild oak. Taste of raisin, oak, rich chocolate. Thick body with a raisin finish. Nice beer!
