Pours jet black with a paperthin mocha head, visibly viscous. Aroma of vanilla, dark chocolate, roast. Taste follows with some added caramel notes. Slightly sweet but the oak and roast balance. Excellent beer

almost black. thick. low slow carbonation.
vinous aroma... also, chocolate chips, bandaids, smoke (throughout and annoying), wood, oats and roast.
the palate is pretty frikkin sweet.... stop with the sugar already... it tastes like choc-o-bloc chocolate flavored port wine...ugh. at least the bandaid note isn’t in the flavor.
it is thick, syrupy and cloying. low carbonation doesn’t help it any. 7/4/4/2/13--

(Growler thanks to ericandersnavy) black as oil with frothy dark tan head that lasts forever. This coats the glass like oil. Nose of peanut butter, grape, raisins, rich chocolate and mild oak. Taste of raisin, oak, rich chocolate. Thick body with a raisin finish. Nice beer!
