4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
25.4 oz bottle. Inky brown with a brief tan head. Nose is coffee, molasses, raisin and oak. Thick and creamy with a buzzy tang. Taste is espresso, caramel, raisin and fudge. Finishes with some char. Perhaps a bit more of the raisin than Bohr. Another awesome mega-beer from CCB.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Poured from a 750ml bottle that is a dark black. Has a thin tan head and has the aroma of roasted malt, choclate, figs and rasions. As the beer warms up has a nice chocolate malt start with a nice warming feeling like a nice scotch.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to 50belair. Heavy dark brown/black pour, with a dense tan head. Chocolate, heavily roasted malts, burnt brown sugar, spice, dark fruit, molasses, and a touch of infected sourness. It was good except for the light unpleasant sour notes. Nice heavy, sugary dessert beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a deep black color with a brown head. Looks like a Cigar City stout should look.
The aroma is heavy on the chocolate and roasted malt with a little bit of anise mixed in. I also get a little bit of dark fruit and some spices.
The flavor is very similar to the aroma. I get a lot of the classic imperial stout notes with chocolate, roasted malt and coffee as well as some dark fruit and some anise. The beer is fairly dry overall.
Medium to thick mouthfeel and low carbonation.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 11/20
[Bottle, thanks for the trade!] Pours black with a small, dark brown head. Aroma is dark fruits, chocolate, anise, banana notes, alcohol (really starts to take over as it warms), and light smoke. Taste is raisin, dark chocolate, spices that I can’t quite peg (more when first opened, they are overpowered more and more as it warms) blends into charred malt and a little too much alcohol towards the end. Very thick mouthfeel, dry, extremely long finish--easy 5. Overall, I was fairly disappointed with this one. Great mouthfeel and appearance, and the first sip wowed me, but within a couple of minutes, the excessive amount of charred malt started to wear on me. As is the case with many imperial stouts these days, it ended up tasting like I just ate something that spent way, way too long on the grill--especially in the finish. This ruins so many potentially good beers. Regardless, thanks again for the trade!

Tap @ Mikkeller Bar, Cph.
Pours utterly black with a nice, staying, creamy, dark-beige head. Aroma has mild coffee, sweetness, some astringency, mild fruity. Medium carbonation, fine dry and light creamy palate. Flavour has oak, roasted malts, deep dark chocolate, light liqourice, honey. Light herbal touch with mild coffee. Dry finish with a bit of a herbal touch. Very nice.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Again, thanks go out to Sean9689 for this beer. Served in a Captain Lawrence tulip at a recent tasting.
Pours near black with a good creamy mocha head with a bit of spotty lacing. The nose brings forward chocolate and roast along with some light smoke. Spices linger in the background. The flavor hits pretty hard, especially combined with the feel, with some chocolate and roast. Really heavy chocolate and some spice. Creamy body with light carbonation and an uber-smooth finish. Very well done by the CCB crew and their cross-Atlantic compatriots.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle purchased at CCB on Hunahpu’s Day. pours a silky deep black with bright brown highlights and a slim tan head. light chocolate malt nose with layers of anise, caramel, raisins & cherries. thick chewy body (as the Imperial Stouts from CCB tend to be) covered with chocolate, caramel, dark fruit, alcohol and thin layers of vanilla and spice. sweet with some residual sugars. soft, yet vibrant. sweet and roasty finish with more dark fruits on the back end. the alcohol drops off through the finish leaving a nice mellow feeling of candy and fruit.
