4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
750mL bottle. Poured near-black with a remarkably dark brown head.. looked quite imposing in the glass! The aroma picked up a hefty dose of raisins, molasses, and licorice with accents of coffee roast, herbal hops, and rye alcohol.. large and in charge. The flavor found mostly licorice and molasses at the core, along with a good hit of golden raisins.. oxidation and misplaced nutty roast laced throughout.. finished dry with powdered molasses, raisins, and roast. Heavy-bodied and very filling on the palate.. tangy and warm in the end, but the balance held.. very good overall.

From a shared 75cl bottle at RBNG-14. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of dark malts, dark fruits berries and lots of chocolate. Quite sweet but still balanced. Not as good as Bohr, but certainly a pleasant one!

Taster from a bottle at the Grand Tasting at the RBNG-event at Fredrik 3.’s Hall. Dark brown coloured body. Lasting small tan-coloured head. Black coffee on the nose. Coffee and confectionery chocolate flavours offset by bitter liquorice added by a spicy touch. Full bodied and very smooth in the mouth. Lovely late drinking (Halden 15.02.2014).

Bottle, 75cl, at RBNG-14 Grand Tasting. A dark brown to black beer with a minimal sized dark beige head. The aroma has chocolate, coffee, dark dried fruits and some molasses. Alcohol notes. It’s full-bodied and warming, with a soft carbonation level. Caramel, dark chocolate, molasses and a pleasant bitterness. Roasted malts and coffee in the end. Overall, sure nice, although a tad sweet. 140215

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Ok, that does it. It’s time to call it a day. No more ratings for me this night, my palate is completely and utterly exhausted: I can’t really find any clear differences between Dirac and Bohr, other than a much lighter sourness in the Dirac. Apart from that Dirac has a black body, quickly disappearing brown head, very strong aroma and flavours, it’s dark roasted, and I get chocolate and coffee.
