4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at Rattle’n’Hum. A new imperial stout from Cigar City? Now that is something to cheer about! But what does Dirac mean? Floral aroma. Super roasty and smokey, with some peat, marshmallow, dark bread, and beef broth. This is a true imperial Russian - very substantial and complex, almost like a meal in a glass. Awesome brew!! I like this better than Zhukov or Hunapu, and those are both terrific. This is going into my top 10 - I’m glad I got a chance to try it.

Pours deep black with a huge insidous dark brown head. Nose is deep fudge, molasses and light smoke. Flavor is smooth milk chocolate, rich dark malt, and finishes lightly salty with lingering raisin, caramel and fudge. A spectacular beer.

Saved this sweetness from Hunaphu’s day 2011. Thick molten black with a tan milk chocolate head. Smell is sweet dark fruits light chocolate with a little spice. Flavor runs with the sweet raisins. The beer has great spice, still had a some bitterness left in the bottle. I am glad I picked this up that day.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle from mane liquor. Jet black pour with an amazing tanned head! Aroma has powdered chocolate, coconut, hints of soy and dark raisins. Taste is incredibly balanced. Smooth chocolate and raisins combining exceptionally well. Loads of espresso coming through. Huge beer. Massive chocolate bitterness. Just struggling to put the glass down

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2013 Bottle from Mane Liquor. Wasn’t expecting a great deal from this but wow it delivered. A thick, sinisterly dark tan head sits stop the black body. Nose shows stewed dark raisins, almost rum like raisin notes. There’s coconut, powdered chocolate and a touch of soy sauce in there too. Raisins never overpower. Coconut and cocoa shine and are in superb balance. Smooth melted chocolate and a hint of coffee. Creamy mouth feel with light yet lengthy bitter sweet notes on the finish. Wow. Fantastic stuff. Wish I had another
