A-- Poured black. Want to say motor oil black but just a shade lighter. One finger dark brown head that finally settled into a dark brown collar through drinking. Really nice and thick looking beer. Just a bit of spotty lacing and a typical CCB dark oily substance on the sides of the glass. S-- Dark fruits. Lots of them. Prune and Dark cherry mostly. Lots of chocolate fudge and hints of vanilla from the barrel. No notes of rum at all. T-- Spicy hops on the gums and then a lot of prunes. Touches of spices and light oak and vanilla from the barrel. M-- The Mikkeller influence is in the feel. Lots of sweet char and ash in the mouth. Lot of charred ash and sweet burnt rubber in the mid palate. Well hidden ABV but feels bigger than 10%. tar and soy sauce in the mouth. Slick and oily finish. Low carbonation and heavy feel. O-- Outstanding beer. Good collaboration. Well crafted beer and though big and thick, a good solid sipper. Would love to revisit or see the two do another pairing again.

MotherBrother (693) - Aalborg, DENMARK - AUG 10, 2012
Pour opaque, very dark brown - almost black, with no head at all. Aroma of bitter coffee, chocolate, slight cinnamon, vanilla, wood, dark fruits, slight smoke, a little tobacco feel to it, roasted malts, and some slight rum at the end - with a little heat. Well done. Taste dominantly sweet, with some faint roasty and bitter notes as well. Semi-full and oily body, with a rather flat carbonation.

TimE (3184) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JUL 30, 2012
pitch black color. Pours like motor oil, no head, charcoal, tar, tobacco, run, sweet malt, very very full body, ton of bitter chocolate and raisins. Not overly sweet, tons of tar. Wow, the first CC beer I actually really like.

Bottle, 75cl, at RBNAG-11. It pours a black body, flat. Roaste malts, coffee, licorice, alcohol, some resins and generic hoppyness. Roasted flavor with licorice notes, a touch of chocolate and coffee, and some meaty hints. Resins and bitterness towards the end. Full-bodied, with a pleasant carbonation. A warming and tasteful beer well worth a revisit. 111015

Tallahassee, Fl - at drowland’s 7/7/12 going away tasting party - thanks to stevencon. Black as tar pour, thick khaki colored head. Aroma is pleasant with some licorice accents. Flavor has a heavy port presence with some chocolate, raisins and dates. Turns slightly boozy. Thick and sticky mouthfeel. Excellent.

UPDATED: JAN 4, 2014 Bottle shared at drowland?s going away tasting. Pours a thick black with minimal ring of tan head that leaves little to no lace. Aroma of chocolate, raisins, dark fruit and spice. Taste is like a rich rum cake with chocolate, very nice. Thick and viscous, light carbonation.

Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates quickly and completely. Aroma has a decent amount of dark grains, raisins and roasted malt with backing bourbon and chocolate. Flavor has a good amount of chocolate and raisin with a bit of bourbon and roasted malts.
