4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Review from notes at Cigar Cityís taproom on 9/9/11 for Firkin Friday.
Draft poured into a 4 oz. sampler glass.
Appearance: Poured a medium caramel brown with golden highlights. Nice lacing.
Smell: Sweet malt with a touch of bitter hops.
Taste: Grassy hops up front followed by lightly roasted malt in the middle before ending with a nice bitter finish. Aftertaste is bitter as well. Very nice flavor.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a decent amount of carbonation.
Drinkability: Very good drinkability. You could drink several. Goes down smooth.
Overall: Good beer overall. One of the better ESBs Iíve had (while I havenít had a ton, I know this one is good). Worth trying.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is slightly sweet with almost a syrup edge, and slightly malty. Color is a brown/orange with a small off white head. Taste is not exactly sweet, but more malty with a toasted edge. Palate finishes a bit sticky, like too much of a sugary edge.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Really enjoyed this CCB, interesting (and delicious) combination of grassy hops and bready (almost chewy) malts. Nicely balanced, super tasty and easy to drink.

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours amber. Aroma is a bit sweet with bready hints. Taste is sweet toffee, biscuits, caramel malts and floral hops. Palate is medium and dead on for the style. A bitter that is easily sessionable.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an amber red in color with a one inch white head.
The aroma is very well balanced. Kind of hard to describe, alittle sweet yet still hoppy.
A little malty sweetness balanced by bitter hops.
Very smooth mouth feel, medium light body with high carbonation. The finish is fairly bitter.
Very nice beer, Iím pretty sure this was my first ESB, a nice style I will be exploring a little more.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
The nitro makes this a lovely silky beer. Has a rich malt to it and enough of a backbone of hops to keep it going. A favorite ESB. Think this might only be available on draft.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at CCB. Pour gold/amber with white head. Smell malt and hops. Taste some a great amount of malt, spices and herbs. Light caramel taste on the end. This is a great tasting beer.
