Tap at Crum’s in St. Pete. Clear amber pour. Thicker yellowish head. Sweet floral nose. Taste is salty and mildly vegetal with cloying sugar. Sweet broccoli and picked green beans. Sauerkraut. Not good.

On tap at DLD 12. That is the most memorable thing about it. It was an average Oktoberfest/Marzen, Glad I got to try something from Cigar City finally.

Tap at DLD12. Lightly sweet barley malt aroma. Amber color with moderate head. Lightly sweet toffee malt flavor. Okay - an average Maerzen.

Tap at Dark Lord Day 2012. Earthy caramel malt and apple aroma. Deep amber with a small off-white head. Caramel malt, light fruit, earthy vegetal flavor with a light hop finish. Light body. Very malt forward. One of the better marzens I’ve tried.

Draft on tap at DLD 2012 (Munster, IN). Pours a rich glowing copper hue. Healthy fiery reddish glow and no real haze. A frothy offwhite head dies to a film, laces small. Aromas are crisp toffee, toast, biscuits. Mellow sweetness, touches of spice, and some dry floral and earthy hops. Touch of yeast, spice. Mellow sweetness leaves it a bit bigger than expected. Initial is lighter end of medium, offering crisp toast and biscuits, gentle sweetness, some crisp carmelization, dry florals and spice. Earthy hops offer spice, decent dryness. Middle is just a touch sticky, toffee, toast. Backend is a touch sticky and toasty, growing dryness, toast, and dry Europe hops, touches of spice. Quite drinkable if getting a touch girthy at times. Solid Marzen.

A great take on a classic style of beer. The aroma was fresh of dried orange fruit and a gentle, floral hop scent. Flavors were mild at first, but as it warmed up there was light toffee and again, dried citrus. With a hint of hops in the finish, this beer was incredibly drinkable - cheers!

Draft at Cigar City. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a very thin off white head. Minimal lacing. Aroma has lots of toffee malt notes. Flavor has a nice mix of hop bitterness aka malt sweetness with spice notes in the finish. Very easy drinking.

Aroma of toffee, malts and a nice hickory. Pours bronze with almost no head. Taste is nice and hearty. Great notes of toffee and yeast. Sweeter than your average marzen.
