At the brewpub. Pours orange with a small creamy white head. Smell is sweet honey, lagery, standard Marzen smell with some extra sweetness. La or is sweet and light, with some hints of spice and a slightly dirty Marzen finish. Low carbonation and a lingering honey wheaty taste on the palate. Right on style and at the top of the style, just not my favorite style. Had to try though.

I don't think I'm a huge Oktoberfest guy. This was fairly good and drinkable. Malty of course, but not overly so. Tastes like what I think an Oktoberfest tastes like in my mind. Good example of style but nothing that has CCBs stamp on it. Could be from anyone.

Geiger says this is CCBs best beer, and while I don’t quite agree it’s certainly a good one. Very nice caramel malt crispness, semisweet, but a good lightly bitter finish. Excellent stuff, extremely drinkable.

Tap at CCB. Pours a nice golden brown with white head. Aroma of Carmel, malt and biscuit. Taste malt, Carmel, brown sugar and croissant. Good Marzen! Drink up!!!

on tap at the brewery taproom. I enjoyed being able to have a Marzen in the summer... it’s been a long time since last year’s Oktoberfest! Mostly sweet but with a roasty note that you would usually find in porters and I’ve never experienced in an Oktoberfest. Nice touch.

Draught at the Pony Bars Cigar City Event NYC sept 2012. Nice clear amber beer with a small offwhite lacy head. Malty and floral aroma. Malty, floral, hoppy and some kind of herbal grass flavour. To much floral flavour for me...

Sweet, but with an stale wheat component - strangely this worked. Looked a little more pale than other oktoberfests. The taste was a bit stale like the aroma, and this time it didn’t work as good with a secondary cigarette taste. The palate was nice and frothy and refreshing. Taste was the only detractor.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2012 Draft from Fermentation. Amber pour with a white head. Aroma is sweet bready malts with some light honey. Medium bodied with flavors the same as the aroma with a nice piney ending. Pretty solid Oktoberfest.

Average for what I expect from them, but then again I expect home runs all the time. Basically this is a perfect copy of a normal Oktoberfest... So enjoy for what it is.
