4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 IPAsavedMYlife (294) - St. Petersburg, Florida, USA - JUL 27, 2011
Pour is powdery golden color with an off white head. Nice amount of carbonation. All the usual smells on the nose, grassy, lemon, caramel malt, and only a hint of papaya. Medium mouth feel. A very nicely made ipa, and the papaya gives it a nice peppery dimension. Just enough sweetness that’s not over powering. Awesome summer brew. Enjoyability 4/5.

Classic ipa amber with off white head. It has a lot of papaya in the nose but really blends well. Another great ipa from ccb

Papaya IPA is basically their Jai Alai IPA brewed with a healthy dose of Papaya. I have a feeling that if you like Jai Alai, you’ll love this brew.
Papaya IPA pours a dark amber color with a big fluffy two finger head. Great retention and minimal lacing.
Right off the bat I noticed a more fruity aroma then it’s base beer. The Papaya is doing it’s thing and it’s lovely. Citrus and floral hops combine with a rich malty backbone here. The fruit is the star here though. It’s juicy and fresh.
Wow I really ended up loving this beer in the end. The juiciness of the fruits take center stage. Papaya, citrus, and other tropical fruits. Just deep and rich. The caramel malt keeps the brew balanced.
Mouthfeel is smooth, medium bodied, and rich. Fruity and juicy.

Pours a murky orange with plenty of head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is sweet, citrus, orange and papaya. Taste is more of the same. Very good. Palate is full bodied with nice warming. Overall a pretty great brew.

750ml bottle, a slight sweetness to this, the fruit really works well with the citrus of the hops. Just not quite as well as with the Peach version. Still very good.

Well I didn’t try this on draft at the brewery on Hunahpu day when I had the chance, so I resorted to the 750ml bottle that’s on shelves now. And its really nice as it is, probably alot better on draft! Anyway, I found the papaya really under-stated and difficult to detect. The nose was dominated by peppery citric hops. The flavor also peppery with hop flavor, a good full malt background was clean and perfectly balanced, medium bitter in the finish. Perhaps the papaya gave a fruitiness that assisted with the balance? The beer was crystal clear orange amber with a nice fluffy head. I was a magician with this beer: now you see it, now you don’t. Where could 750ml of beer go to so quickly?

Growler. Poured a clear copper color with a medium sized off white head. Nose is big piney, citrus hops up front with notes of caramel and strong papaya notes as it warmed. Medium body with a great amount of carbonation and a crisp mouth feel. Flavor is bitter, earthy hops balanced with sweet caramel an papaya notes. Sweet, bitter finish. I actually think the papaya came through quite a bit and that it pairs perfectly with the Jai Alai base. One of the better CCB treatments I have ever had.

750 ml bottle courtesy of solan. Thanks. Pours a translucent copper color with a medium white head that has good retention and some lacing. The nose is all sweet fruits, but i can’t really make out any one fruit distinctly. The flavor is biter hops forward with mango, papaya, persimmons, grapefruit, caramel and a hint of biscuit. The palate is light but effective with soft carbonation. The finish is medium in duration, dry and clean. Overall: A very tasty IPA,

Draft at CCB. Pours orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma is papaya, melon, and hops. Flavor is the same with those hops being piney. Medium body. This is just another great IPA treatment from CCB.
