This 6% ABV beer was brewed with copious amounts of real passion fruit as a nod to Henrik Papsø, who was our inside man for Amager in getting certain special ingredients over there. He also has over 25,000 ratings on RateBeer!

This was a while back. Black color with beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, hints of fruit - not sure if I would have recognized Passion Fruit. Taste is chocolate, burnt malts, some tartness. I love Passion Fruit, but it didn’t really come through enough. An awesome Porter nonetheless.

Drank with the tasting 08-05. Nice. Dark porter taste with an aftertaste of fruit. Rich. But too much carbonation that masks the taste.

75cl bottles shared @Gentse Biervereniging’s Nieuwjaarsreceptie, merci. Smooth maracuja pits and their gentle fruity tartness lures into a delicately balanced fruit marmelade-slathered chocolate Lebkuchen, well carbed and light in mouthfeel, finishing on both on exotic fruit peel and porter roast. Nice, approachable stuff.

Collaboration between Cigar City and Amager in honour and with the assistance of Papsoe, one of the top raters on this site. Yellowish beige, thin, creamy head over a very dark, hazy burgundy beer. Strong and enticing aroma of chocolate sauce and cocoa powder, candi sugar, banana liqueur, candied figs, vanilla, raisins, indeed an exotic hint of passion fruit, orange juice, mint, strawberry, cappuccino, mango, sour yoghurt, lime peel, leather, pine resin, meat broth. Taste begins with a rounded, sweet candied fruitiness, some exotic fruits, some fine citric acidity and a suggestion of passion fruit, though hard to identify under the big, deep, chewy maltiness that follows, chocolatey, caramelly, nutty, with a thick oily mouthfeel, a bit meaty, smooth and supple, ending in a satisfying finish of roasted, coffee- and chocolate-like bitterness, some refined, sourish fruite juice, citrussy hop bitterishness and a slick caramelly maltiness. Very interesting, complex and very tasty, but the passion fruit delicacy does get lost a bit, it just pops its head up here and there only to drown in big and viscous chocolatey malts. Which is not a big problem for me - I’m not a fan of passion fruit to begin with.
