This 6% ABV beer was brewed with copious amounts of real passion fruit as a nod to Henrik Papsø, who was our inside man for Amager in getting certain special ingredients over there. He also has over 25,000 ratings on RateBeer!

Draught at Fermentoren. Black coloured with a small off-white head. Roasted aroma of caramel. Light roasted flavour of berries, chocolate and passion fruit. Fruity finish.

Collaboration between Cigar City and Amager in honour and with the assistance of Papsoe, one of the top raters on this site. Yellowish beige, thin, creamy head over a very dark, hazy burgundy beer. Strong and enticing aroma of chocolate sauce and cocoa powder, candi sugar, banana liqueur, candied figs, vanilla, raisins, indeed an exotic hint of passion fruit, orange juice, mint, strawberry, cappuccino, mango, sour yoghurt, lime peel, leather, pine resin, meat broth. Taste begins with a rounded, sweet candied fruitiness, some exotic fruits, some fine citric acidity and a suggestion of passion fruit, though hard to identify under the big, deep, chewy maltiness that follows, chocolatey, caramelly, nutty, with a thick oily mouthfeel, a bit meaty, smooth and supple, ending in a satisfying finish of roasted, coffee- and chocolate-like bitterness, some refined, sourish fruite juice, citrussy hop bitterishness and a slick caramelly maltiness. Very interesting, complex and very tasty, but the passion fruit delicacy does get lost a bit, it just pops its head up here and there only to drown in big and viscous chocolatey malts. Which is not a big problem for me - I’m not a fan of passion fruit to begin with.

Bottle from Mikkeller & Friends shared with esp0r & edvard at The "Esp0r #2000 Weekend in The Woods" 2014. Black body with a massive beige head. Aroma of fruity yeast esters, dark molt, mocca. Taste of dark chocolate, light sweet, burned malt, fruit. Roasty finish with sweet fruits. Good beer, though the name probably suggested a bit more fruit than we got.

Countbeer (4755) - Best of E-Town mit ein Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - SEP 14, 2014
Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Creamy brown head. Deep dark brown black beer. Aromas of coffee, roast, caramel, mocha, ligt bay leaf, fruity tones and some light marzipan tints. Flavours of nice fruity tones with stronger bitters, roast, bay leaf, earthy tones, coffee, mocha and light vinous. You seriously taste the (passion) fruit. Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, roast, coffee, light fruity, delicious! Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, almost full bodied and a creamy texture. Delicious beer!

Bottle. Murky deep brown liquid with medium light tan head. Aroma of dried fruit, pineapple, light licorice, light chocolate, raw sugar and passionfruit. Taste is very light sweet and light bitter with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, tropical fruit and raw sugar. Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation. OK but weird.

Bov (9818) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUN 1, 2014
from Erzbierschof - gusher ... cloudy and very dark brown beer under a huge dark foam; solid roasted maltiness with notes of molasses and ashes; hints of burnt ribbon and tropical fruits below; overcarbonated, medium-bodied; very bitter and dry; aggresive aftertaste of tar and ashes leaving no more places for the passion fruits - very disappointing

Bottled, thanks to caesar for sharing. Dark brown colored, small head. Aroma of roasted malts and chocolate. Malty flavor, which is very dry with fruity notes. Very awkward combination of flavors, which doesn’t work for me at all.

Bottled from biergenot.be, medium sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, milk chocolate, passion fruit. The fruity notes give a combination with the porter that is quite extraordinary, but I like it. Fruity taste, some bitterness, slight sweet. Fruit makes it feel a bit thin bodied, although it also adds some sweetness and slight fruity sourness. I like it.

Pours dark with big head. Aroma of sweet molasses over tropical fruit, roast malt. Medium body, flavour of vanilla smoothness, sweet fruit. Balances the roastyness nice with the passion. Nice and drinkable

Sample from bottle during CBC 2014, my last sample during the festival. Dark brown with a small head. Quite a lot of passion fruit both in the aroma and taste. Also light roasted malt, chocolate and some coffee. Smooth and with a bitter finish. Good stuff!
