Draft at Redlight Redlight. This one pours nearly black in color with some mahogany at the edges and topped by a small, foamy khaki colored head that slowly settles to a thin bubbly ring with some drippy legging on the glass. The aroma is nice and dry and based mostly in bitter chocolate and dark roasted coffee to go with a touch of oaky spice. Earthy hops add nice bitterness on the back end as well. The flavor follows and shows more of the dark, bittersweet cocoa, dry roasted barley, and darkly roasted coffee. A touch of milk chocolate adds some sweetness while subtle oak flavors add some spices to go with the earthy hop bitterness on the back end. Medium bodied with ample carbonation that leads to a dry, roasted cocoa finish. The white oak was subtle but added some nice flavor and spices to an already solid dry stout.

Cigar city white oaked patio tools. 32oz growler thanks to Justin... Pours a deeper stouty pour with consistent edges and topped with a light beige head which retreats to a thin film... Aroma of fairly straight forward dry stout flavors, Somewhat milky with the oaked sweetness on the backend... Flavors are much of the same with a somewhat dry flavor with lightly roasted chocolate notes and a vanilla oaked addition. Light watery bodied with a lighter level of carbonation. 7/3/6/3/14

Thanks to someone for this, Florida growler fill... black body with a light tan head... the nose is lots of coffee, roast and oak... the taste is sweeter then I was expecting, still shows lots of oak... didn’t leave much of an impression on me

32 oz growler. Pours a nice dark blackish hue, brownish edges, and a frothy light brown head dies to a decent ring. Aromas are decent wet oak, roasty malts, dry and inviting with touches of coffee, soda bread, and more dry roast and coffee. Touches of sweeter breads, light toffee, toast sneak in. Quite nice, oak shows up. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied with a healthy roast, coffee and earthy roasted malt. Some ash, peanuts, wet oak, dry ash, roasty malts, some coffee. The oak is tame, very light, maybe a touch of creamy vanilla, still very earthy and roasty and very nice. I love regular Patio/Hills, so this beer is no exception to that. Perhaps a touch sweeter, wet oak. Nice.

On draft at Cigar City/Tequesta Brewing Tap Takeover at Coffee District. Much like the normal Patio Tools only with a tad bit of oakyness to it. Was a bit dryer this time around but still had a good amount of chocolate flavors mixed with malts.

Cask… Tar black ale with a small, fizzy, white head. Aroma-wise, I notice absolutely no difference between this treatment and the base beer. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and tickling carbonation. Perfectly-balanced flavor - espresso and dark, unsweetened chocolate step forward. Roasty, dry finish. I’m disappointed that I was unable to detect any difference between this and regular Patio Tools. Still, a really good dry stout.

draft @ redlight redlight. Spicy aromas with milk chocolate and hints of coffee. Pours black with an off white head. Roasty and dry with milk chocolate and spicy notes. Finishes smooth with a creamy mouthfeel.

Tap at Redlight. Pours a jet black with an off white head. Huge roasted grain, coffee, and spicy white oak in the aroma. Much of the same notes appear in the taste, with the oak blending nicely with the roasted grains. Tasty brew.

Pours a jet black with a minimal tan head. Nose is roasted malts, white oak, wood, coffee. Taste is roasted coffee malts, licorece, molasses, sweet caramel. Palate is very good for a beer of this abv, tad bit of warming and a clean finish. A pretty good treatment

On tap Cigar City pouring deep dark mahogany with thin mocha head. The aroma is roasty and lactose as well as burnt to charred malts. The taste has a nice dark roasted and burnt maltiness that runs smack dab into spicy oak. It gets pretty burnt and almost ashy and mixing nicely with the spicy oak to midway and into the finish.
