Pours black in color with coffee and very light cocoa notes. Patio Tools is brewed with roasted barley which contributes forward coffee notes with small notes of cocoa and toffee in the flavor. An authentic dry Irish stout.

Sample at the tap room (as Hillsborough River Dry Stout). The beer is flat black with a thin beige head that dissipates to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma of coffee with a touch of chocolate malt. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, coffee and cocoa. The finish is dark chocolate up front with a lingering roast aftertaste. Above average overall.

Cigar City Smokes NYC Rattle N Hum event. Big stout aroma. Dry but not that dry, which is a good thing. Decent for what it is, but gets lost in what else Cigar City does. Dark colour, suitable carbonation.

Nearly black. Tan head. Smooth roasted malt and chocolate aroma with some prune notes. Flavor is dry but so damn smooth and delicious. Roasted malt, dry chocolate flavor. What a finish. Wow for a dry stout...this is bad ass.

Growler… RBWG ‘10… Pours pitch black with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Decent retention. The nutty, chocolaty bouquet also hints at espresso. Light to medium-bodied and astringent with soft carbonation. The flavor offers nuts, coffee and dark chocolate. Mocha, raspy, burnt, bitter finish.

Growler, huge thanks to you-know-who-you-are! Pitch black, light borwn creamish nice medium head. Lovely aroma of roasted malt, tobacco, chocolate, plenty of coffee, bit pepper. Very good well filling mouthfeel. Lots of peppery roasted malt and coffee in the flavour. Dry roasted cofee finish. Una chella bueneenísima en serio!

Tap at Kickback’s in Jax, FL. The pour is a deep cola red looking black in the glass with a creamy, thick, deep brown head with nice retention and decent lace. Aroma is heavy milk chocolate and sweet cherries. Taste is bitter chocolate forward, lemony, thinnish, pretty present char. Not as ashy and astringent as my growler sample (which the original rating was deleted for various reasons). Definitely excellent for style, much more bitter and dark chocolate heavy than Guinness. But still has a thin lemon tea character going on. Good stuff.

Growler from smith4498- thanks again, Jason! Pours an opaque dark brown, almost black, with a creamy tan head that laces the glass smoothly and evenly. Aroma of dark roasted barley malts, dark chocolate and coffee, earthy hops, and peat. Flavor is also robust and roasty, with notes of everything in the aroma, especially dark chocolate, coffee, and earthy hops. Dry from the first whiff to the finish. Medium-bodied, with average carbonation and a dry mouthfeel. Very nice dry stout.

Entering old rates. Draft @ CCB. Must have drank gallons of this nectar, St Patty comes to FL. Couleur brune foncée, col beige/blanc cassé. Arôme parallèele le palais, avec d’énormes notes de malt grillé, de chocolat voire presque de torréfié, le tout reste correct pour le volume de cette bière. Le tout est léger, complexe avec un profile malté profond mais restant très ’sessionable’. Note des pointes de caramel, prodndeur chocolatée et grilléé. En finde bouche, une pointe minime de graisn fumé se fait noter. Détronne facilement certaisn grands noms irlandais.
