Cigar city penultimate push. 32oz growler thanks to a recent trade from a tampa local... Pours a deep stouty pour, barely penetrable, and topped with a medium tan head that is quick to dissipate. thick smooth consistency throughout resembling many of the other zhukov variants in appearance but perhaps thicker than some of the barrel-aged ones .. Aroma contains an abundance of roasted fresh coffee beans smooth chocolate and cocoa. Rich strong assertive coffee bean goodness although not as extreme or solid as final push but stunning nonetheless.. Flavors are smooth rich mostly sweet with rich coffee grain flavors. Solid smooth yet semi- thick conistency. Entirely thick and smooth with a touch of coffee bitterness towards the finish. This one is a winner on its own but pales slightly to its bigger ultimate sibling. 9/4/8/4/16

Growler… This beer rocks!… Pours thick and black with a mid-sized, fluffy, brown head. Decent retention. The nose presents chocolate chips and Cuban-roast coffee with a suggestion of manure and a sticky hint of vanilla. Full-bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and modest carbonation. The flavor is a scrumptious swirl of milk chocolate, sweet vanilla and huge Cuban espresso. Finishes, sweet, creamy and absolutely scorched. A totally world class treatment of a totally world class imperial stout. Thanks a ton, Tony!

I must say that I liked this better than Final Push. The beer was near pitch black. It was super well balanced coffee and chocolate stout. Roasty and delicious. I finished the growler from the bottle.

Many thanks to Kan for opening the growler! Poured near black with a rich, deep tan head. The aroma was all about the coffee, and I’m cool with that.. nice and sweet, with a fresh dose of earth and nuttiness present.. warm chocolate and a touch of molasses supported.. again, the coffee led, and was excellent! The flavor was heavy, with slightly-smoky coffee over burnt black patent and dark chocolate.. peppery toward the back, with a lot more coffee on the finish.. really tasty, but just shy of what the nose promised. Heavy-bodied with lots of coffee roast on the palate.. just an all-around excellent beer!

32 oz bottle shared by Kan. Thanks! Pours a pitchblack opaque thick pour, a big frothy darker brown head, cakey, good lacing. Nice. Aromas are a nice rich roasty coffee, good roasted malts, touch of cocoa, and chocolate. Some sweet toffee, caramel, and faint vanilla. A healthy coffee aroma, but nothing as hearty as Kopi. Initial is full bodied. Rich roasty coffee, earthy, roasted malts, cocoa, espresso. Not as rich as others, with lingering caramel, toast, and roast. Some toffee, bread. Into the. Middle rich cocoa and chocolate take over, dark, a touch of mellow sweetness. A really nice beer, solid, coffee is a nice touch but I wouldn’t call it special. Tasty. Good flavors, the coffee pales in comparison to Final Push (which we gave another go tonight again - still amazing). Once again, the Zhukov in general is amazing, and the coffee adds a deeper level. It’s a great beer, but no Final Push..

Growler shared by pantanap at the pre-GTMW 2011 tasting, pours black with a brown head, aroma is of coffee but not as intense as Final Push, the flavor has a good amount of chocolate that mixes in with the coffee, not as forward with the coffee as Final Push but is still extremely enjoyable, can’t believe I got to try this one.

8/12/11. Growler shared pre-GTMW. Pitch black pour with a touch of brown head. Robust coffee aroma with a bit of sweet and a touch of sour. Rich, sweet flavor with huge lingering coffee and a touch of tart... not bad!

Again, I thank a really great friend for this beer. Dark pour. Loads of fresh coffee, roast, ash, chocolate. Damn this is good. Tons of rich coffee, chocolate, light molasses, awesomeness!

UPDATED: AUG 10, 2011 Growler shared at the Coffee District. Joan Jett black pour with a small brown head. Bold fresh roasted coffee, vanilla, and chocolate aromas. The taste is brash with all kinds of dark roasted malt and rich bold coffee with undercurrents of chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and black liquorice. Huge body with great balance. Outstanding.....

Pours jet black, brown head. Nose is GIANT coffee, huge roast, loads of vanilla and cocoa. Flavor is fresh roasted coffee, strong coffee, big dark chocolate, hints of vanilla, chocolate and smoke. Huge body. Thought this would kill final push until final push was served and then I came to my senses. Bautiful beer none the less.
