Nose is very peppery with additional notes of cedar, roasted malt, coffee, and brown sugar. Taste was better with more coffee, and some vanilla maltiness coming through, not as peppery as the aroma was. The name scared me at first but it wasnt bad.

Tap at RNH. Dark brown, almost black. Aroma of roasted malt with a distinct peppery note. Taste is more malt with some chocolate and some spicy pepper. Very interesting.

Draft. Pours a bruin body with an off white head. Dry and bitter and spicy aromatic character. The cracked pepper is very apparent in a spicy drying manner. Spicy black pepper and cedar like notes. Delicious and very easy drinking. Soft body no real warming, and well spiced. Love it.

Draft. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Roasted malty aroma with coffee and a hint of peppercorns. The flavor is similar, roasted malts, light sweetness, peppercorn, and a hint of coffee. Pretty good.

Draft at RnH during Cigar City Tap Takeover Event in NYC. Pours a dark brown body with light brown lacing. Aroma is light brown madura ale notes. Similar notes in taste with some roasty flavors coming out as well.

Tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours essentially black. Full aroma of coffee grounds, vanilla bean, and black pepper spice. Flavor is solid with notes of dark chocolate and wet coffee grounds; however, I don’t get nearly as much peppercorn as I did in the nose. Somewhat earthy and chocolaty finish. Good stuff.
