3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 8, 2012
Bottle... Clear, deep, dark, ruby ale with a small, fizzy, taupe head. The aroma is just a simple marriage of my favorite things - chocolate and caramel malts with a light splash of coffee. Medium to full-bodied and lightly creamy with lazy carbonation. The flavor mirrors the nose - malty milk chocolate and caramel with a suggestion of coffee and the perfect level of unassuming hop bitterness to prevent cloying. Finishes lightly sweet and nourishing. The perfect malty brew to sip on all day - especially when you’re not the one doing the driving. I imagine drinking this straight from the bottle would be plenty enjoyable and preferable to drinking from a glass while rollin’ dirty over those famous Tampa and St. Petersburg potholes.

Big thanks to markwise for this. 12oz bottle pours an amber color with tan head. The aroma has spicy hop notes, biscuit malts and some roasted malts as well. It seems a little bright and almost tart. The taste has some full malty biscuit to roasted malts going on as well as yeasty notes to a near spicy cedar wood sensation. Interesting brew and goes great with a bus ride.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 markwise (2914) - North of Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 19, 2011
Sampled from the Tampa Bay Brew Bus. Pours a medium amber brown with a tan head. Nose is a hefty dose of malt with caramel and toffee, followed by a hint of earthy, grassy bitterness. Flavor is similar- caramel and toffee malt up front with a hint of maple and smoke followed quickly by earthy hops. Finish is some hops with the remembrance of malt. Light to medium in body and although the bottle does not say the ABV, if this is sessionable it would be killer, if it isn’t then it sure acts like it is a session beer.
