Bottle at the Where the Wild Beers Are event graciously hosted by Mission Dolores. Pours a hazed brown with a thin beige head. Burnt and roasty at the beginning, with some funk behind it. Tastes burnt and very bad. Like burning vinyl and rubber. Very unpleasant and gag inducing. Definitely something wrong here. I actually wrote in my notes ‘I don’t feel happy any more’. This didn’t even get to be drain poured as I walked it with me to the bathroom and toilet poured it. I’m really hoping that there’s something wrong with the bottles that made it to NY because I have loved just about everything else I’ve had from Joey and Wayne, and was quite shocked at how much I didn’t like this since I really, really wanted it to be good.

poured almost black held up to light very dark purple with a nice head that faded slowly and gace good lacing smelled sour and tasted very sour nice dry finish great beer

Thanks to Kan for sharing this! Brown red with a creamy beige head Sour tart cherries brown sugar burnt toasted intriguing aromas. Tart fruit flavors that’s burnt with lots of cherries and tropical fruit. Tart and tasty. 8/4/8/3/15 3.8

Tampa Weekly Gathering @BT Brandon-on tap–pours a foamy tan head that laces and dark copper color. Aroma is funky, vinuous/tart/sour fruit, yeasty. Taste is funky, vinuous/tart/sour fruit, yeasty, medium malt-burnt toffee. Good effervescence. Would like to keep Sea Bass on a shelf for 6–12 months.

aroma is tart with flavor of sour cherry. mouth feel is good with a medium bodied. hops and malts are weak but with give a nice overall performance.

The aroma is sour and slightly malty with a hint of fruit. The appearance is light brown with a large head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is thin. Overall this is probably one of my favorite sour ales but I don’t like sour ales so this one does nothing to change my view.

Bottle. Pours very murky brown. Nose is tart fruit, granny apple and funk. Taste is very funky, sour mash, caramelized granny apple and prune. Interesting.

Aroma:Very similar to a sour beer like Supplication.
Appearance:Black and opaque. Very nice, off-white head. Great lacing, great retention.
Taste:Extremely tart right at the beginning, fading off in the aftertaste. Lemon, apple, persimmon flavors on the foretaste.
Palate:Light to medium body, good carbonation, some harsh astringency.
Overall:I was not expecting this beer to be nearly as sour as it is. This beer would do Jolly Pumpkin proud. It was quite a surprise, and very enjoyable.

Fruity aroma of sour cherries and a touch of malt. Medium bodied with good carbonation. A little bit too sour for my taste.

aroma is a nice mix of roasted nuts, sour dryness, funk, and fruit.
pours brown with minimal beige head.
flavor has a nice mild sourness but is a bit sweet in front, and has a slight malt-vinegar-ness.
medium bodied, finish is sharp and astringent.
