3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 OmegaX (542) - Florida, USA - APR 12, 2012
What a treat to find on tap. CCB. There were plenty of chipotle-like notes of smoke and piney hops. Caramel notes also. Lots of smokey notes! The body is colored like a muddy sunset with orange and brown hues and an off-white head. Taste wise, this one didn’t disappoint with plenty of smokey notes and a bit of heat on the finish. There was a nice malty/piney note from the malt and hops that made this one very enjoyable. A great brew.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Chipalsa (703) - Florida, USA - APR 12, 2012
With a light, hazy orange, this beer looked subtle and gentle. This beer was extreme.. yet drinkable. Aromas were of charred hops, chile and dirt. The taste was light and fruity, maybe dried tangerine, and among a pleasant kick from the peppers.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 dimenhetfield (1731) - , Florida, USA - APR 4, 2012
On tap at EBF. This one really had me wowed from the get go. Nice spicy aroma with hints of peppers and slight smokiness. Flavor wasn’t overly spicy but still carried a nice kick to it. One of my favorite CCB thus far.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Oakes (10184) - Gibsons, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 3, 2012
Dark amber with haze. Big smokey chipotle nose. Good balance. The underlying beer has some body and character to begin with, and adding a blast of one of my favourite flavours on the planet just makes it better.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 28, 2012
Draft… CCB’s Hunahpu’s Day 2012… Clear light brown ale with flashes of burnt-orange and a mid-sized, creamy, taupe head that never fully dissipates. The nose is all about spicy, smoked chipotles. I can almost feel the chili pepper flames lapping at my nose hairs. Full-bodied and silky with tingly carbonation. The flavor is very smoky and quite bitter with some nice chili pepper warmth. Lengthy, bitter, spicy finish. Interesting, enjoyable brew.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 pantanap (2838) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 21, 2012
Smokabaga. consumed at HD2012.... dark brown slightly reddish hazy hued pour and topped with a creamly light beige had... smoked spicy peppers, light grains and a touch of grass on the nose... flavors provide more of the same to go alongside a creamy easy going mouthfeel. nice pepper essence to pair up with the base beer.

Reddish pour, off white head. Aroma of smoke, hops, caramel. Flavor is just a wonderful medley of hops, smoke and caramel notes. Nice!
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Beerlando (3324) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Draft at Hunahpu’s Day 2012. The pour gives a clear, dark, reddish-golden amber body with a thin, swirly, khaki closed film. Soapy suds wash over the glass. Aromas are excellently balanced between smoky, fruity, spicy chipotles, pine resin hops, and a beautiful, semi-dry, bready-caramel amber malt base. The flavor follows suit, smoky chipotle heat growing in intensity over time. Malts are drier than expected, yet with some caramel malt sweetness and bready undertones. Hops show pine resin and grapefruit, keeping things in check. The palate is moderate in body, smooth, and easy going, all despite its heft. It drinks well, with the carbonation intensifying the chipotle heat and keeping you coming back for more. Damn good brew. One of the surprise hits of the day.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Beershine (4718) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - MAR 12, 2012
Draft @ Hunahpuh. Red beer. Gorgeously smooth, richly smokey, and deeply characterful chipotle aroma. Soft palate. Wonderful balance is achieved. Smokey with nice malts that never interfere with the chili and vice-versa. Well done.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 drowland (3891) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - FEB 15, 2012
2/15/12. On cask at Proof in Tallahassee, FL. Slightly hazed red pour, not quite ruby, with a very nice tan head that is tight, creamy, fluffy, and lasts forever along with a boatload of lacing. Bless you, sir cask. The first thing that hits me is bold, fresh, and direct fruity hoppiness... like smelling the hops while brewing... tropical, citrus, grass, and more. Underneath we find a subtle touch of caramel and a hint of pepper and smokiness. Sweet entry that shows caramel, a slight bit of chocolate, and more of that bold, fresh hoppiness. The chipotle aspect shows itself in just a touch of sweet, fresh salty smokiness. As I go through the glass, the pepper aspect becomes more and more apparent. The pepper/smokey aspect is subtle, but there, and add a nice aspect to a beer that I already love, so I surely can’t complain! Yum!
