Red pour, white head. Nose is citrus, caramel, chilies. Taste is big chilies, citrus, spicy burn. Slick and oily. Though not too much heat, the chili taste and smell is a little too much.

Good stuff. It loses some of the hopp punch of tocobaga. In fact tocobaga is pulled into the background on this. The chili peppers taste like jalapeños and aren't too hot. They are at the forefront of the drink though. Very good but i do wish it tasted more like tocobaga.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2013 Tap at CCB. Smell very peppery, with a hint of hops, but the pepper is dominant. Pour red- brown with a nice white head. Taste pepper, hops, smokey, and wood. Has a mild bacon flavor. This is a great take from the Tocobaga which is one of my favorite beers.

Growler thanks to stevencon! Amber pour with a creamy white head. Peppery, smokey, chipotle peppers, hint of malt sweetness and earth. Flavor is well balanced with more of a peppery/smokey flavor than straight forward heat, spicy peppers, earthiness, touches of citrus and underlying caramel malts. Nice beer and not overpowering.

Growler Tuesday! Deep red clear small white head dissipates. Huge spicy pepper aroma not really smoke. Sweet malt with lots of spicy pepper taste hints of smokey notes on the back end. Good beer if you like spicy beers. Some herbal notes from the hops.

On draft at Churchkey in D.C.
The beer is amber hued with a quarter inch of off-white head. The aroma offers a healthy dose of smoke, ash, spicy peppers atop a sturdy malt bill. The flavor is more assertive, with smoky, spicy peppers leading the charge. A bit of a lingering, spicy burn in the throat. Overall, a fun and interesting beer.

On tap at Churchkey (Wash. DC). Pours an amber color with a quarter inch of off white head. Moderate aroma of peppers with some smoke and malt sweetness. Taste follows the smell but stronger, with some sweetness but the dominant flavor is from the peppers. Has a burn that carries through the finish. Medium body with a tingle of carbonation and a dry finish.

Poured a murky copper from the cask with a nice thick white head and great lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, and a slight chili pepper spice. Taste follows suit, but no real spiciness comes through. Great beer, hope I can find it again.
