Bottle shared at a Madison tasting, thanks Brandon. Plums and spice on the nose, but there is so much going on that the finish is way too much.

Poured a mostly brown amber with an average sized tan head. The nose is mild, notes of cinnamon and ginger with some more subtle dark fruit under tones. Smooth mouth feel with a medium body and some carbonation. Flavor is spicy with loads more cinnamon and ginger notes some lesser chocolate notes are present as is the mellow nutty malt back bone. Some dryness on the finish with an aftertaste I can’t put my finger on. But a Great holiday brew. I like the Warmer Winter A little better, but this is a good one.

Review from notes at World of Beer - Fort Myers on 11/9/11.
Poured on draft into a pint glass.
Appearance: Pours a dark woody brown with a 1 finger creamy light tan head. Excellent lacing.
Smell: Sweet winter spices with ginger dominating. Cinnamon and nutmeg also come through nicely.
Taste: Spices dominate up front followed by typical malty brown ale flavors in the middle before ending with freshly chewed grass, a touch of hops and a bit of fruitiness at the finish. Aftertaste is mildly bitter.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation.
Drinkability: High drinkability. You could easily have a few of these over the course of an evening.
Overall: Very good beer overall. Another fine offering from Cigar City. Definitely worth trying if you find it on draft.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours The nose is dominated by soapy yeast with underlings of subtle cinnamon. Flavors are abundantly complex with all the ingredients thrown in: spices galore like nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, almost sassafrass-like herbal note. Pine, more soap, and green-apple bite in the finish. High carbonation and medium body. Interesting.

Pour is a deep slightly amber brown with not that much but a little sticky head. Smell is raisons and candy canes. Taste has a lot of liccorise brown sugar figs and ripe cherries. Pretty good for a herb? Beer.

750 ml bottle via trade with smith4498 - Pours a clear brown color with a one finger thick light tan head. Very little lacing. Aroma is spice, esters, and toasted malt. Flavor is much of the same. Medium to full body. What I like about this beer is the spices were not over the top. A well done X-mas beer. Thanks Jason.

750 ml bottle brought back by bsuedekum- thanks, Blake! Pours a mostly clear amber with a small off-white head. Tons of spices in the aroma- ginger, cardamom, chamomile, and cinnamon stand out the most- along with toasted malts, nuts, and brown sugar. Flavor of muddled spices, with the same standouts as the nose, sugar, caramel malts, potpourri, and soap. Ligh-medium body, medium carbonation, and a muddled, spicy mouthfeel. Not bad.

Bottle at a Christmas party. You can just look at the description and tell what to expect here. Dark brown pour. Aroma had that patented Cigar City brown ale roast with flowery notes. Flavor was less roasty but with plenty of lavender, cardamom, and chocolate. The chocolate notes took a bit of a back seat to the flower-like flavors.
