COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cigar City Brewing’s official celebration of Christmas. A rich-bodied brown ale forms the stage for holiday flavors which dance a festive ballet highlighted by pirouetting leaps of Christmas inspired spices. Cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, rose hips and chamomile compliment the subtle chocolate and light coffee notes of the malt and the addition of roasted carob and chicory complete the performance. Brewed once a year to celebrate the Christmas season. Pair with fresh cracked nuts, fruit cake and share with friends and family. Merry Christmas from the CCB family!

Bottle:   Deep cola, moderate frothy sandy head, nice lacing.   Spicy nose, candied walnuts and cardemum, minor clove.   Has a sort of allspice flair.   Similar on the tongue, not too heavy.   Has a sweet earthy and and bark type background.   Its very shrubby, almost juniper.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Lingering woodsy like spices.   This is one of those beers that you do enjoy, but you keep drinking it to better understand it and then before you know it, the beer is gone.   Thanks for the bottle Jason!

Bottle shared by Brandon. Pours a hazy light coffee brown with a gray head that dissipates to the edges and remains thinly. Aroma has notes of bread, grain, and spice with backing plum. Flavor starts with earthy grain and grows to have a bit of spice and plum.

PorterPounder (4609) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 19, 2011
Tallahassee, Fl - New Leaf Market - 750 ml bottle. Pours a dark chestnut brown with a long lasting, bubbly off-white head; brief lacing. Pleasant, spicy aroma with hints of ginger, anise seed, a bit of sweet molasses. Flavor is mellow but full bodied. Some mild chocolate notes, a hint of cinnamon, a bit of a ginger bite in the back end. Reminds me a bit of a Christmas cookie. would make a great session ale. Thick, smooth mouthfeel.

750 ml bottle brought back by bsuedekum- thanks, Blake! Pours a mostly clear amber with a small off-white head. Tons of spices in the aroma- ginger, cardamom, chamomile, and cinnamon stand out the most- along with toasted malts, nuts, and brown sugar. Flavor of muddled spices, with the same standouts as the nose, sugar, caramel malts, potpourri, and soap. Ligh-medium body, medium carbonation, and a muddled, spicy mouthfeel. Not bad.
