The Tocobaga lived off the bounty of Tampa Bay hundreds of years before the arrival of the Spanish in the 1500’s. They were potters, tool makers and the only Florida natives to grow maize. The large platform mounds they built are still with us today, with one of the largest found near Old Tampa Bay in Safety Harbor, Florida. Climb to the top, and with a little imagination, you can see Tampa Bay as they did. Graphic design by Eric Swanson. Recipe by Tim Ogden.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown ale with small frothy off white head. The aroma is fruity malt and cereal. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet fruity malt and biscuit with light dry finish. A good amber from CCB.

Pours turbid ruby brownish...the color of a blood stain after just drying, with 1-finger khaki head and a lot of floaties. Nose is barleywiney, with big resiny hops, some vinous fruit, and some old aley cobwebby malts. Tastes pretty rich, very hoppy, with notes of vinous fruit, black pepper, and finishing berry and earthy hints. This is a very complex and flavorfukl amber ale.

Bottle. Reddish-orange with a fine head. Nice citrus and pine hop nose, caramel, chocolate. Sweet malt flavor, caramel, slightly earthy, with a touch of cabbage. Tingly, earthy hop finish. Light, soft carbonation. Full and silky. Great balance.

Bottle thanks to my awesome neighbor Rodney. Pours deep amber-red with a creamy light beige head. Nose of sweet lemons, stewed mangos, and hop resin. A bit spicy as well. Taste adds malt sweetness, a bit too much. Surprisingly good overall.

12oz bottle from smith4498, thanks Jason! Pours a murky, amber colored body with a lot of particulate floating around. Thin, creamy and frothy, tan head that dissipates quickly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is bigger, dry grapefruit florals and earthy hops with a slightly sweet, biscuity toffee maltiness. Flavor is similar. Lots of grapefruit florals and earthy hops with a biscuity toffee malt sweetness. Some crystal malts, a few tropical fruits, and a light pine before this finishes dry and moderately bitter with some resins, but fairly fruity and sweetly malted. Lengthy aftertaste following a medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, nothing special, but a decent hopped up red ale. Enjoyable.

wow.. didn’t expect that at all. Pours more of a brown colour than red but laces glass well and bottle has perfect carbonation it seems. Aroma hit me off-guard - very hoppy ; floral scent is very strong. Taste starts strongly bitter but ends only mildly so. In between there is a long transition of flavours and some spice as well. Very different "red ale"

Reddish copper, dense white head. Smells like a nice mix of caramel and grapefruit, plus some cedar. Pretty tasty stuff - a little bit hop forward, a nice malt backbone. I get a lot of tropical fruit, too. And My notes say "marshmallow" as well, so take that or what it’s worth...

Nice sweetness and rounded mouthfeel to this one. Finish is nicely bitter. Good flavors in the aroma and flavor. Full flavored.

From a 12 ounce bottle, pours a clear, copper color. Nose explodes with hints of caramel, grapefruit and pine. Taste is very balanced between the hops and malt backbone. Probably one of my favorite session beers.

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Clear amber - white head. Amber malts, toasted, spicy hoppy, light hoppy, berrie notes, peachy, lemon/citrus, light knækbrød, nice - a bit plain.
