COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Tocobaga lived off the bounty of Tampa Bay hundreds of years before the arrival of the Spanish in the 1500ís. They were potters, tool makers and the only Florida natives to grow maize. The large platform mounds they built are still with us today, with one of the largest found near Old Tampa Bay in Safety Harbor, Florida. Climb to the top, and with a little imagination, you can see Tampa Bay as they did. Graphic design by Eric Swanson. Recipe by Tim Ogden.

12 oz bottle gifted by Kan. Thanks! 74th Cigar City Rating. Pours a rich toasty amber copper hue. A good hazy quality, with some glowing sunset edges. A frothy thicker offwhite head sits atop, stays as a decent layer and laces ok overall. Aromas are toasty and toffee, biscuits and sweetness mix with dry floral and earthy hops. Gentle wisps of citrus mix into the fold. Biscuits, bread, and toast. Simple Red with a decent hopping on the nose. Initial is medium bodied with a pretty potent hop front. Dry florals and grass, a good dose of dry grapefruit, gentle pine hit the palate up front. Middle stays dry and earthy, biscuits and touches of toast mix into the fold, a thorough dose of crystal malts. Not as sweet as anticipated, offering a healthy dryness, hopping, and toast. Finish is earthy, some nuttiness, floral and grassy hops, gentle resinous pine. Simple, dry overall. Ok.

12oz bottle, gifted from Kan! Thanks. Pours a dark dense red with an off white head. Aroma has lots of tropical fruit with a sharp sweet cotton candy and toffee malt character, some piney and grapefruit hop notes in the background. Flavors are a bit astringent in their bitterness and use of crystal malts, big pine, citrus, and melon hop notes that move towards an earthy quality as they attempt to dry out the finish. Long bitterness throughout, and a healthy malt sweetness. Body is syrupy at times. Itís not a bad beer as the hopping is nicely excessive but the use o crystal is just not my thing. This really reminds me of a smaller Bigfoot.

750 ml bottle from tricyclist- thanks again, Matthew! Pours a semi-cloudy amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of amber malts, earthy hops, toasted sugar, and some leafy, earthy notes. Sweetens as it warms. The flavor isnít as sweet, with some subtle earthy bitterness- amber malts, earthy hops, dry grains, leaves, and caramel. Light-bodied, with a dry, malty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. We couldnít believe this was 7.2% ABV. Not bad.
