COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Tocobaga lived off the bounty of Tampa Bay hundreds of years before the arrival of the Spanish in the 1500’s. They were potters, tool makers and the only Florida natives to grow maize. The large platform mounds they built are still with us today, with one of the largest found near Old Tampa Bay in Safety Harbor, Florida. Climb to the top, and with a little imagination, you can see Tampa Bay as they did. Graphic design by Eric Swanson. Recipe by Tim Ogden.

Has a rather decent hop scent, light sweet roast taste and it is alright for the style.

Poured from can to glass. Deep copper hue with light brown creamy head that lingered well. Aroma is spicy, malt, orange rind, plum, brown sugar. Mouthfeel is great with a medium body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness throughout with a bitter following that blends well in the finish. Overall this is a very nice red ale.

Aroma of reisling grapes and caramel cereal grain. Appears orange red with beautiful lace and fluffy foam. Taste is very bitter for a red, but good, more of a red ipa, sweet grain up front with grape like hoppiness that fades into a very hoppy bitterness on the end. Palate is fizzy and nice. Overall, unique and delicious.

Tap. Murky red. Good lacing. Subtle malt nose. Rich, almost syrupy body. Caramel malt followed by a surprising hop smack.

Very hoppy. Citrus rind notes. Similar to the gwar for me. Had a long draw on the back of the tongue

12oz can. Pours a brownish red with a tan head. Slightly sweet with a nice hoppiness to it. Another fine brew from CCB. Barely remember this one it went down so fast.

Mild aroma of hops and prunes, amber colored short lasting head. Balanced taste of hops, citrus rind, and dried fruit. Creamy feel with a bitter grapefruit rind finish.

Flight at the brewery. Cloudy dark amber body with a small white head. Malt, nutty, caramel, plum, pineapple, toffee, brown sugar. Oily texture, soft carbonation.

Pours hazy muddy brown red with creamy lasting beige head. Smell is iced tea. Taste is slightly hoppy leaning bitterness wise but fairly sweet as well. Tastes good and is quite drinkable and flavorful. Full body, creamy, slightly prickly carbonation. Pretty good red ale, but not something I reach for often.

An excellent red ale that has a great story as to why and how it got its name! I love it when a brewery includes their communities history into their beers! Another delicious beer from Cigar City!
