COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tropical Heatwave Wheat Ale is an American Wheat Ale, generously hopped with Kohatu hops from New Zealand. The Kohatu hops provide a very tropical flavor that fit perfectly with this summer ale.

Can @ home from Sean via wave. Hazed pale golden pour with a soapy white head. Smells of pear, lemon, and spicy, floral, noble hop character. Nice orange rind and papaya punch at the end, too. Plenty of bready malt. Flavor is nicely sweet. Biscuit, cracker, and bread sweetness balanced by a subtle hop bitterness. Light citrus notes of lemon and Orange. Light pine. Plenty of pear, flower, and a hint of earth. This is good.

Can to half-pint glass (shared with the Mrs; thanks burg326). Looks solid; a fairly transparent gold with white head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of wheat and mild hops. Tastes like it smells, only the hops are discernably tropical. A little biscuit too. Solid on the palate. Not bad, but I’d prefer it to be hoppier.

Pours a clear golden with an orange hue to it. The aromas are of hops, tropical fruit, papaya and yeast. The taste is hoppy with a robust wheat character that transforms this into a smooth and creamy feel. Good stuff.

On tap, New World Brewery. Not much to say about this one - hazy pour, small head, citrus aroma, creamy citrus taste. Pretty much exactly what you expect a wheat ale to be - nothing extraordinary but a fine example of the style.

Initial flavor is very bitter especially for a wheat. Very nice citrus flavor. Finish is a bit astringent.

Shared by drabmuh. Thanks Matt. The beer is golden yellow hued with a small, fleeting white head. The appearance is mostly clear, with only a slight haze. The aroma offers wheat and some pungent malt. Smells ok. The flavor is dry and tart with an abundant wheat character. Dank hops play a major role as well. Again, ok. Lingering dryness and mildly tart wheat. Overall, mediocre beer from an outstanding brewery. Still worth a try. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-18-2012

sample at FBG beerfest. Pours a light gold with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, wheat, melon and bitter hops. Taste follows, nice light and refreshing wheat beer.

From the bottle. Golden pour with a white frothy head. The aroma is earthy and hoppy. The taste has some hop character with some citrus notes and some grainy malt. Refreshing and good brew.
