3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jwr07 (113) - Decatur, Georgia, USA - MAR 10, 2012Courtesy of ratebeef. Pours a cloudy yellow with a thin, fluffy, bright white head. Smells of Clive and other spice, maybe banana peel? Briskly carbonated for a wheat beer, pretty crisp. Tastes like toasty malt, some mild citrus, a whisper of tropical hop flavor, but for something labelled "tropical heatwave" I would expect more tropical fruit flavor.

On tap, New World Brewery. Not much to say about this one - hazy pour, small head, citrus aroma, creamy citrus taste. Pretty much exactly what you expect a wheat ale to be - nothing extraordinary but a fine example of the style.

Initial flavor is very bitter especially for a wheat. Very nice citrus flavor. Finish is a bit astringent.

The beer is golden yellow hued with a small, fleeting white head. The appearance is mostly clear, with only a slight haze. The aroma offers wheat and some pungent malt. Smells ok. The flavor is dry and tart with an abundant wheat character. Dank hops play a major role as well. Again, ok. Lingering dryness and mildly tart wheat. Overall, mediocre beer from an outstanding brewery. Still worth a try.

Bottle from ericandersnavy. Pours hazy gold with a 3 finger creamy off-white head. Aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. Med body. Flavors of wheat, citrus and tropical fruits. Rather dry, mildly bitter. Cleaner than many wheat beers. Quite pleasant.

750mL bottle pours clear gold with near white head of foam. The aroma offers up a nice load of nearly vibrant, for the style, hoppiness and earthy green leaf notes. Smells yummy. The taste is firmly hop forward, again for the style, with a pleasing mix of lemon, lime and grapefruit all tempered by mild levels of malts, grainy malts, a bit of cereal and wheat. Great hot weather brew and I love the hop forward aspect as it increases the sessionability of it.

750ml bottle from smith4498, thanks Jason! Pours a cloudy golden-orange colored body with an inch thick, dense, frothy and foamy, white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing. Good looking beer. Aroma is pretty crisp wheats with a light bready sweetness, a light grass, and a light citrus lemon, tropical fruit, and melon. Flavor is similar. Light lemon-grass up front before a crisp wheat comes in with some graininess and a touch of bready sweetness. A few grassy tropical fruits and a light melon note before this finishes crisp, clean, and dry with a medium bitterness before leaving a medium length aftertaste. Medium-light body and a somewhat lively, crisp, moderate carbonation. Overall, a somewhat hopped up wheat ale with a light fruity note and a grassy bitterness. Clean and crisp wheats with a refreshing carbonation. Nothing special, but enjoyable.
