Tropical Heatwave Wheat Ale is an American Wheat Ale, generously hopped with Kohatu hops from New Zealand. The Kohatu hops provide a very tropical flavor that fit perfectly with this summer ale.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with a white head. Citrus nose with spice. Med body with banana, lime, orange and wheat with a creamy, soft bitter presence. Semi dry finish with wheat and citrus. Very nice.

750mL bottle pours clear gold with near white head of foam. The aroma offers up a nice load of nearly vibrant, for the style, hoppiness and earthy green leaf notes. Smells yummy. The taste is firmly hop forward, again for the style, with a pleasing mix of lemon, lime and grapefruit all tempered by mild levels of malts, grainy malts, a bit of cereal and wheat. Great hot weather brew and I love the hop forward aspect as it increases the sessionability of it.

Canned 04/08. Attractive silky white head. Vibrant orange, yellow hue. Hazy is an understatement. Creamy, heavy hop oil (like a NZ galaxy), grainy husk texture gives a zesty flavor. Clean yeast. Tons of flavor relative to average AWA. Great 6-pack for golfing.

Can from the brewery that was an impulse buy enjoyed in a darkened hotel room hoping the kids fall/stay asleep. Very nice aroma of citrus fruit and sweet hops. Great base wheat flavor with a nice orange hop bite. Very well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750mL bottle sampled at Cigar City. Thanks jdub for the share. Pours a hazy yellow orange with a white head. Nose is tropical fruit, some citrus, orange, lemon, and hints of peach and hops. Some wheat as well. Flavor is similar; light with fruit and citrus all over. Nice, beautiful hot weather beer. Light to medium in body and lingering fruit in the finish.

From the bottle. Golden pour with a white frothy head. The aroma is earthy and hoppy. The taste has some hop character with some citrus notes and some grainy malt. Refreshing and good brew.

Can @ home from Sean via wave. Hazed pale golden pour with a soapy white head. Smells of pear, lemon, and spicy, floral, noble hop character. Nice orange rind and papaya punch at the end, too. Plenty of bready malt. Flavor is nicely sweet. Biscuit, cracker, and bread sweetness balanced by a subtle hop bitterness. Light citrus notes of lemon and Orange. Light pine. Plenty of pear, flower, and a hint of earth. This is good.
