When this beer is on, it really is some kind of thing. Heavy tones of vanilla but not in that "Southern Tier syrup" kind of way, sort of like an adult’s vanilla. Rich but not too sweet, it’s definitely hard to believe this is just Maduro with some vanilla beans, it tastes almost more like a porter.

On tap at CCB. Aroma was strong malty and vanilla. Appearance was brown with minimal head. Taste was sweet with the vanilla shining through. Finish was sweet with vanilla aftertaste. Overall a great beer from a great brewer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 4, 2012 I finally got to try this beer! The body was the usual maduro; a merky brown brew with a soft white head. Aromas were pure vanilla with some nuttiness and slight roasted notes. Sip after sip reveals fresh vanilla among bready tones and a malty finish. As it warmed up the vanilla became fairly potent, and it was fantastic.

Firkin @ cigar city. Aroma of hazelnut, cream, and a slight pot funk. Pours pale brown with a good fast head. Tastes of vanilla bean, dark nuts and a thin finish. A little overbearing for its actual substance.

Brown in color, slight haze with a thin tan head. Big Vanilla dark roast malt aroma. Light with hops. This was a terrific flavored brew with great aging. Low in alcohol most can drink a few of these for sure.

On draft at the brewery, poured a dark brown color with little head aroma of sweet malt and straight vanilla. Flavors of light chocolate, smores, vanilla, and malt. This is the best variety of maduro I’ve had yet.

Draft at CCB. Now this is my type of maduro. Nose is malt and vanilla. Pretty simply stated the vanilla flavor adds sweetness too the aroma of the original maduro. Pours dark brown. Flavor is similar with nice, drinkable, sweet vanilla with a bit of the nutty malt flavors from the original maduro. This one is superior in my opinion. Great stuff

Draft at the brewery Christmas day. Very nice take on the maduro brown. Provides a great vanilla flavor that rounds out sweetness and a bold flavor addition to the regular maduro.

On draft for Cigar City Tap Takeover at Laser Wolf. Very sweet aroma of vanilla and light chocolate. As it warmed up a bit it transformed into an almost s’more like beer. One hell of a tasty treat but a one and done type of beer.
