Cheers Dave! Hazy dark red-brown beer. Moderate caramel frothy head. Softish palate. Toffee - slightly burned. A little aniseed. Riding along in the background is sweet vanilla. Finishes with more aniseed and bitter toffee. Nice! Quite Creme Brulee like.

Growler… This beer rocks!… Cloudy, deep mahogany ale with a small, quickly dissipating, beige head. The aroma is wonderful and strange. I’m not really picking up much vanilla bean… and I love the scent of vanilla bean. Instead, I’m picking up a malty, fruity concoction of toffee, maraschino cherry, fruit cake and cotton candy. Full-bodied with an oily mouthfeel and just a rumor of carbonation. The flavor offers sweet cinnamon, caramelized fruits and pineapple up front. Great bitterness carries up the rear. Lengthy, bittersweet (more bitter than sweet) finish. Thanks to Degarth for providing the growler of this world class brew!

Pours deep copper to amber with thin off white head. The aroma is candied prunes, brown sugar, modest vanilla, dark fruitiness and a touch of citrus. The vanilla makes the aroma seem barrel aged on the occasional whiff. Interesting. The taste is oh so smooth and sweet with vanilla, sweet vanilla and rich vanilla. That robust note carries into some dark fruity notes and hints of citrus hop flavor. Each sip, kind of like the aroma, gives a brief sense this is barrel aged with the smooth rich vanilla running from beginning to end mixing with the rich sweet malt notes.

On tap @ CCB. Pours a winter warmer deep amber brown-yellow with a slight white head. Nose is vanilla like crazy, but fruit, candied fruit, spice, and sugar with light bits of winter warmer hops (very very slight). Flavor is a tantalizing dance between vanilla and WWWW. The hops are all but made obsolete in this ode to sweetness. FInishes with lingering Madagascar vanilla. LOVE IT if you like sweetness in your beer. I agree it is too sweet for most, but if you don’t want it, I will have it.
