Bottle pour, 2013/2014 cellar- hopped barley wine with dark fruit backbone. Aroma still present however naturally must have mellowed with age. Dark brown colour with a touch of ethanol from alcohol however 10% abv masked quite nicely.

Advertised at 12% at the brewery. Spicy brown with aromas of cinnamon and nutmeg. A big beer to say the least. No head but good flavor makes up for the appearance. Best one so far.

Bottle from 2014. Pours a muddy deep brown with small head that lasted about 20 seconds. Aroma is fruity with plums, peaches, prunes, and currants with some slight booze and barrel. The taste is similar with the aromatic fruits, thick barleywine style ale, and some booze on the finish. Well balanced though. Medium to full body, moderate carb. Slightly sweet. Really a great beer.

Current bomber purchased at CCB. Pour is dark cola color with very little head, which disappears quickly. Not a distinct nose, but one that is rather sweet with hints of caramel and toffee. Taste is very sweet and sticky, in a b good way. The high ABV is well hidden. Nice sipper.

October 23, 2015 - taster glass sample at Darkness Eve. Bottle shared by me. Lots of head and much sweeter than I expected.

Poured a clear dark red copper color with a tall khaki colored foamy head. The head became creamy on top as it settled. The aroma was on the mild side, predominately a sweet toffee scent with some spice. The beer had a nice creamy texture. There is alot of flavor here and pretty complex. Hints of chocolate, toffee, dark stone fruits and some mild hops come thru towards the finish. There is also a good sense of the alcohol in the flavor and a warmth from it as well. This is a good take on a Florida winter warmer. I sipped the bomber bottle all night watching the ballgame. No need for a winter warmer in August in Florida, but a pretty good brew none the less.

Deep brown pour with a single finger head. Aroma of sugar and a little toffee. Medium mouth. Taste is very sweet. Lots of sugar and a little alcohol. Nice bright citrus brings up the rear and balances things out. Really easy drinking for 10%. Lace present.

Bottle. Deep purple-black. Not many bubbles are visible, though a thin khaki head does eventually arrive. Nose: Chocolate syrup, alcohol, figs, a touch of toast. Tangy prunes as well. The flavors are smoothly blended. So smoothly, in fact, that it’s kind of hard to pick out anything individually. As a whole, the brew’s a sweet, slightly roasty, very alcoholic blend. Some toffee, some caramel, some prunes. A splash of citrusy hops - mandarin oranges, berries. Toasted bread finish. An odd blend. Beautiful body, though. Creamy and medium-full with perfect, silky carbonation. A good drink for its alcohol content. I’m sure the barrel-aged versions are incredible.
