750 ml bottle shared by footbalm. Pours a very murky brown color with a small white head. A sweet caramel nose, berries, tons of rich citrus hops. A similar flavor; rich berries and fruit, loads of caramel and spicy citrus hops. A nice smooth mouthfeel. More of a American Strong Ale. Nice and tasty. Very drinkable.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 TomDecapolis (4007) - Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 27, 2009
750 ml bottle from Capones. Pours a deep brown with chestnut notes and a smaller bubbly off light tan head. Aroma of toffee, citrusy hop notes, pecans, light chocolate and some vanilla. Flavor of toffee, nuts, moderate hop flavor and bitterness. Mostly pine and grapefruit coming across from the hops. Actually a bit more bitter then I was expecting, but it works. Also getting some earthy/tobacco and chocolate from the grains.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 AgedOak (95) - Ohio, USA - DEC 25, 2009
Purchased and consumed in Tampa. Deep dark brown in col0r with a very thick rich tan head. Aroma is nutty and vanilla. This is a very rich ale with lots and lots of malt. Toffee, vanilla and a slight touch of bitter chocolate are present in the taste. As named, flavors become more pronounced as this ale warms. I am glad I brought an extra bottle so that I can enjoy it at home when the outside temp will be in the teens or below.

Cloudy mahogany pour with off white head. Nice malty aroma, though could be a little stronger. Taste is a very pleasant: malty sweet with noticeable spice. Good mouth feel but with a slight lingering bitterness. A very nice beer, especially for cold weather.

The aroma is sweet with candy sugar, spice, pine hops, paper, and roasted malt. The appearance is red brown with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma with chocolate. The palate is smooth. Overall this is a pretty good beer.
