Bottle, 2011. Pours black with a thick offwhite head. Smells tart, of cherries, vanilla and some citrus and floral hops. Tastes of brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, anise, with a heavy sweetness and medium bitter. Full bodied. Medium carbonation. Finishes small both and dry. Nice.

Bottle. Aroma of sugar, citrus, dark fruit, and heavy spice. Pours cloudy golden brown. Very hot and sweet when I had it, boozy. Good flavor though, just a little too sweet for me.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Chipalsa (704) - Florida, USA - DEC 26, 2011
750ml Bottle
Appearance - Deep brown, smooth bubbles
Aromas - Thick; Cherries, caramel, hops
Taste - Mellow, rich cherries, toffee, malty, spicy
This barley wine caught me by surprise - but this is what you learn to expect from Cigar City! A huge fruity nose is followed by a cherry-slam on the palate. Finished smooth and with a soothing warmth of alcohol - completing a well rounded taste.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 TimE (2068) - Tokyo, JAPAN - DEC 25, 2011

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jackl (729) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 24, 2011
Bottle. Nose is spicy - some plums, brown sugar, port wine, raisins. The taste is very sweet and boozy. Dark malts. The palate is astringent and oily. Good carbonation. Overall, too hot and sweet for me right now. I’d like to see how this would benefit from a year of aging.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 DeputyAndy (466) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 23, 2011

Pour out of bottle is deep purple brown with creamy tan head, aroma has big notes of molasses, dark fruit, hints of spice with clove and cinnamon, touch of fruity notes, even a slight cocoa powder. Taste is a nice spicy mix of cinnamon and clove, sweet dark fruit and raisin, touch of chocolate, molasses and burnt caramel, finishes fairly dry and slightly bitter.
1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20 cheapdark (2961) - Quiptown & Central Valley, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 13, 2011
Had this on tap at Willards Tap House in largo fla. Also, not sure if this is the correct place since ther are 20 of these cc winter warmer bullshits. Possible leather aroma. Darker amber color. Slight haze. First taste is certainly high alky. Difficult at times for a lager lover. A tad cloying during the session. Yes, barley wine all the way. Quite medicinal on the lingering rude finish. Personality is overthetop, as with any BW. FLAT.
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 kabsetter (40) - Tampa, Florida, USA - DEC 13, 2011
Rating the 2011-2012 pint bottle. Yes its sweet, so not for all, but for me its decadent and truly wows me. A treat to sip, a great speciatly barley wine. So good, im adding it to my stock and have one in the fridge for tomorrow.
