3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
This is by far my favorite IPA. So citrusy. So hoppy. SO GOOD! I held on to this bottle for a bit but it still tastes great!

Fresh can, hell yeah! Nose of subdued citrus and a vanilla, oaky character (smelling and drinking from a can in a koozie). Can’t see it. Taste is extremely smooth, well balanced between a touch of malt and moderate hop bitterness, flavor, and wood character. Just a welcome touch of tannins help to dry out the beer. A very enjoyable beer I would drink repeatedly.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tasted from bottle. Strong aroma of citrus fruits mostly grapefruit and some mango. Not quite as robust as the regular jai alai IPA. You do get a woody oak aroma but not as pronounced as the citrus. Taste is a supremely well balanced IPA. Mostly citrus hops mixed with a very faint oak taste but not too much. Huge grapefruit, passion fruit, mango citrus taste. Not overly bitter. Just incredibly well balanced. Exceptional IPA but I think I like the regular jai alai IPA a little better. Oak doesn’t add too much and seems to take away a little of the citrus hops taste. Overall still an excellent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: pours an apricot ale with a full finger of maple foam which falls slowly to a quilt of the same. Sheets of lace. Slightly hazy.
S: So, I’ve heard there are coconut/pina colada notes in this beer. Never believed it....Turns out, they were right. Nice woody character with pineapple and a slight follow through of dry coconut shavings. Pretty cool.
T: Sweet and dry. Some citrus and more sharp pineapple with a resiny midsection and a dry biscuity malt profile lends itself well to the dominant bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with hi carbonation and a dry finish. Would like a bit of a slick on the palate to work with here.
O: A good beer, but the more I drink this, the more I think I prefer the O.G. in this unit. I like how the oak has added the unusual suspect of coconut and dry woodiness (which I found less so in the original). The mouthfeel is off on this for me: needs lower carb and something to resonate the finish off.

Bottle. Hazy golden hue, white foam, beady lace. Aroma shows plenty of oak amidst the hops. Citric fruits in the back. Oranges jump out through the hops, sticking to the back of my throat after each sip. Right amount of oak. Tasty.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
UPDATED: JAN 15, 2014 Bottle: copper penny color with a hazy, brown-ish center. Eggshell-beige head lasts for a while & leaves some nice lacing in its wake. Aroma is largely oak; woody, wet, dense, with little vanillin & heavy tannin. The heavy oak gives off a whiskey-ish vibe, too, quite abrasive on the nose. Very muted citric hop aromas (orange, pineapple) are smothered underneath. Taste contains notes of white oak, whiskey, vanilla, wet cardboard, & faint peppery spice. Again, very mild mango & orange hop character with essentially no bitterness left. Abrasive woody, oak-y, & somewhat boozy finish. Very interesting beer, but that oak just washes everything else out. Not really a fan of this one, sadly.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle via UDBeernut. Make the trains stop following me! Pours a delightful full amber with a moderate head that diminished quickly. Left behind lacing is varied from light sand to medium droopy fingers. Some trub and random floaties at bottom of glass. Light nose of oak and malt. Rounded sweet body is tinged with mellow oak. some vanilla but just a skoash. End tinge of bitterness. Yum.... first of the day. This will sustainme thru the cement project today.
