COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is an American White Oak-aged version of Jai Alai India Pale Ale. The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.

Once again thanks to tastybeer for the southern surprise. Another twist on Jai Alai works well. The white oak here doesnít overwhelm the base beer; in fact it works to improve an already world class product.

Aroma / Appearance - Idle carbonation takes it time escaping the confines of the shaker glass. A bronze base is warm and inviting. White pine, orange glo, and polished maple remind me of a Christmas tree lot in December. Background aspects of mango and pineapple add even more depth.

Flavor / Palate - A warmth from roses, wood, and orange jam provides a welcoming start. Transitioning to a robust vanilla center it tastes a bit like cream cheese. The bitter finish warms the throat and fills the stomach. I could see drinking a bottle or two and calling it a night after a day at work.

Draft. Burning orange hue, dark yet mostly clear, with an off-white head sticky as marshmallow fluff. The aroma has aged citrusy hops, dill, sharp oak and dried oregano. Flavor is packed with juicy hops -- orange juice, lime, pineapple -- along with vanilla, caramel and slightly tannic oak. The barrel is smoothly integrated, enhancing the underlying brew in a way I donít usually find with oak-aged IPAs. Creamy medium body; peppery CO2. Very nice, complex and unique flavor.

Old rating. Love this one. Dark orange-red. Plenty of citrus juicy hops but tempered by s creamy vanilla presence from the oak. Less bitter than most IPA. Some vinous aspects as well. Excellent all around.

Can. Pours murky dark orange with creme colored head that lingers. It tastes like, well, oak. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at cigar city. Pours a copper orange color, white head. Strong mix of hops and oak in the nose. Taste follows, lots of oak in this batch. Nice beer.

Can thanks to the bearded TJ. Punch in the face with citrus slight oak notes, orange. Flavor brings the oak forward, really bringing the orange out.

Bottle. Pours an orangish dark amber with a thin layer of off white head. Aroma and taste of hops, citrus, oak that brings a hint of booze with it.

12oz can pours a yellow amber color with a bit of head. The oak is overbearing and harsh in both flavor and aroma. Not enjoyable.

Very interesting beer. Very little head, color is a dark orange almost red. Aroma is very strong chardonnay. Smells wonderful. Taste is very little IPA even though this is the base. Hard to describe the flavor, almost in a unique category. Immediate bright taste with a smooth malty flavor, some hops as an accent and a dry wine finish. Very interesting.

Can from unknown via Justin D. Pours an ominous amber-orange brown, lots of fluffy head. Aroma resinous with a touch of caramel, and maybe a hint of the suggested vanilla, definitely not as dank as the OG Jai Alai. Body arch and slightly sweet, with the oak definitely coming through in a the finish, dry yet slippery, with a warming sweetness. This is pretty nice.

Iíve always enjoyed white oak, and I would like to give a rating of a previous vintage, but this is my first rating, and itís of the 2014. Oak presence has diminished greatly. Has usual tasting notes of itís regular ilk, and a pronounced sharpness that previous entries were so renowned for lacking. Itís a good beer, it just used to be a great one.
