This is an American White Oak-aged version of Jai Alai India Pale Ale. The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.

Once again thanks to tastybeer for the southern surprise. Another twist on Jai Alai works well. The white oak here doesn’t overwhelm the base beer; in fact it works to improve an already world class product.

Aroma / Appearance - Idle carbonation takes it time escaping the confines of the shaker glass. A bronze base is warm and inviting. White pine, orange glo, and polished maple remind me of a Christmas tree lot in December. Background aspects of mango and pineapple add even more depth.

Flavor / Palate - A warmth from roses, wood, and orange jam provides a welcoming start. Transitioning to a robust vanilla center it tastes a bit like cream cheese. The bitter finish warms the throat and fills the stomach. I could see drinking a bottle or two and calling it a night after a day at work.

Really interesting IPA. Pours orange with off white head. Aromas of oak, vanilla, dill, dank hops. Tastes like it smells; woody and quite a bit of dill. Tasty. Thanks Dchmela!

Sampled at the Great American Beer Festival 2016, Denver, CO.
Clear deep golden color with a mid-size foamy off-white head. The white oak ageing brings some woody, vanilla and sweet notes into this. Strong and flavorsome. It’s much tastier and richer than the original Jai Alai.

Tap at Copenhagen Beer Festival in Boston (9-24-2016) showing well filtered caramel brown with a finger of clean white foam. The nose shows light malts and hints of lemon. The palate is medium bodied and moderately carbonated. Flavors of light pineapple and pine resin with a light zesty bitterness. Simple but not bad.

Can from my father (think he bought it at the brewery). Fruity and hoppy smell with oak and vanilla. Similar taste with some dill, which is surprising. The oak gives some clear and interesting flavours. Smooth mouthfeel. Nice!
