UPDATED: MAR 21, 2010 Nitro tap at Redlight. Pours jet black with a nice thick frothy dark brown head. Nose is COFFEE, huge! big roast, fresh brewed coffee. Flavor is heavy fresh strong coffee, big roasted barley, hints of licorice, chocolate. Amazing coffee beer. Iíve never had this much pronounced, fresh roasted coffee in a beer ever.

Thanks to Joey and Wayne for the beer, thecheeseman for the $150 coffee, Redlight Redlight for putting it on nitro, and to all the ratebeer folks who descended on Central Florida for the RBWG. It was fun. A: Pours coal black with a cascading deep dark evil head. The head lasts and lasts. Very puffy and pillow like, the consistency of great espresso. S: Wow coffee to the max. Very bold, rich, and earthy with notes of vanilla. T: Awesome. Full of fresh espresso. An insane amount of roast. Light vanilla sweetness, a hint nutty, just pure awesomeness. M: So big full and rich. Itís the nitro that really puts it overthetop though. Despite being huge it is so soft, smooth, creamy, velvet. D: Awesome. Would love to be able to sit down with a pint of this one early some morning. Awesome beer. Loved it, Alesmithís "the shit" just became my number one want.

Are you "shitting" me? Holy mother of coffee beers. Black pour, creamy dark brown head. Aroma...the best coffee and chocolate combo this side of the Alesmith Speedway Kopi Luwak. Tons of dark chocolate, vanilla, rich(and I mean RICH)coffee. Flavor is just loaded with the creamiest combo of chocolate and coffee I have ever tasted in my life. So rich and bold. Stupid good. Best mouthfeel of any beer I have ever had. Seriously.

#4500, also moves me to #7 Stoutie (currently at 714 rates). RBWG, Draft at Redlight-Redlight, without a doubt the best beer iíve had all weekend and honestly in a very long time before that. Give that stout and more so coffee toned stouts are my favorite style this should not come as a surprise, furthermore iím dying to have Kopi Lowak Alesmith given that i enjoy the base beer slightly better. Pours an abyss of a body with a thick black body and a coffee tan head that coats the glass. What a rich coffee esk aroma that reaches your senses as its pouring, like coffee brewing. Espresso, coffee roastiness, dark underlying fruits but subdued to rich dark chocolate tones, the ultimate dessert. Milkshake like hints, etoh is completely masked and only benefits the complexity of this ale. Chewy coffee espresso and a rich chocolate and coffee finish. Utterly fantastic, THANK YOU CCB!!

On tap, RBWG 2010. Pours a crazy dark black body with an amazingly thick dark brown creamy head. It just looks intense. The nose has the most intense coffee aroma Iíve ever encountered, Heavy fresh brewed espresso, hearty roasted malt, and somehow no alcohol fumes at all. Thick and intense roast flavor with loads of dark chocolate and the best coffee flavor Iíve had in a beer. It finishes with a touch of alcohol, but itís amazingly well hidden. Mouthfeel is full, thick, and oily with a velvety smoothness. Perfect stuff. This blows away any other Imperial Stouts Iíve had. This beer made me want to drop the crazy money it costs to get some of this coffee. Is it the greatest beer in the world? Probably not. Is it kind of a one trick pony? Maybe. But there wasnít a thing about the beer that I would have changed the day that I had it. I think you have to love coffee as much as I do to like this beer that much though. I hope they make this again.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2010 On tap at cc. Pours a jet black with a dark brown head. Lots of lacing. Nose is strong coffee, roasted malts and other nutty goodness. Taste is heaven, heavy coffee with chocalate and dark fruits. Palate is awesome. Heavy mouthfeel with nice warming ability. One of the best beers iíve ever had

Had about 15 samples of this during GABF. Thick pitch black pour with a medium brown chocolate milk head. Nose is in your face coffee and chocolate with a slight hint of dark fruit. Flavor is chocolate syrup without being overly sweet, then you get a rush of coffee bitterness that lasts through the finish. I canít think of a thing Iíd change about this gem. Best at GABF and probably the best beer Iíve ever had.

32oz growler most generously sent by Beerlando. thanks, Bryan! rated a couple days ago but entered as rating #999 of my journey to #1000. pours a beautifully decadent, oily, jet-black with a rich, dark, cinnamon/rusty brown head with perfect retention and sticky rings of lace. aroma is unlike any beer iíve ever experienced. absolutely stunning with the most intense, rich, world class espresso, charred french roast, fruity, freshly harvested coffee beans, and a touch of spiced, mexican blend and backed by elegant, pure dark chocolate, toasted hazelnuts, and hints of vanilla with subtle notes of cinnamon and topsoil as it warms in my CCB snifter. i literally spent 10 minutes savoring the aroma before taking a sip! so long, in fact, LJ started laughing at me and sheís seen me rate hundreds of beers before this one. flavor is almost indescribable. just on a completely different level than mere mortal imperial coffee stouts with a massive onslaught of rich espresso, freshly roasted $100/lb coffee, and bitter, slightly fruity, spent grinds with a sublime balance offerred by rich, semi-sweet fudge, vanilla, and subtle molasses with hints of fresh cinnamon, dark fruits, and cigar ash on the back end. palate is nothing short of perfect. i mean, this "shit" drinks like a damn frappacino with a silky, slick texture, perfect carbonation, and the most intense, chocolate, roasted coffee finish iíve ever experienced. overall, truly a sublime beer. no way i can rate this any less that a perfect 5 as itís definitely one of the absolute best beers iíve ever tasted.

Had this as 2010 GABF. My favorite beer there by far. Might be my favorite beer all time. I went back in like 5-8 times to have it. I love coffee. I love big stouts. This mixture was just amazing. Pitch black. Fresh coffee. Nice huge rose of roasted malt. Perfect.

Take, in my opinion, the best Imperial Stout on the market and add in the perfect blend of (supposedly) the best coffee in the world. On nitro draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours thick and dark, the nitro only adds to the milkshake-like appearance. Coats the mouth as it goes down, better than Pepto Bismol. Amazing aroma of roasted coffee, vanilla and roasted malts, distinct from the coffee. Flavor is sublime. Rich and powerful. This could be a go-to dessert for many meals. Decadent.
