sample from the pitcher @ GABF on 9/17/10. pitch black oily pour with a small tan head (imagine it would be a bit stronger in a snifter glass). intense deep roasted coffee nose with some big malts. the Kopi Lowak coffee is so dark and intense - love it! huge coffee infused body with layers of chocolate. dark coffee ground finish with more chocolate notes and big roasted malts. this is the perfect coffee beer.

Wow - just as everyone else gave this one mad props, so will I as it deserves. Thanks for opening the growler Vince. It pours very similar to the Hunahpu’s with a dark thick black oil-like appearance and the perfect caramel and dark cinnamon color super-lacey head. The aroma has huge delicious smooth coffee notes and light chocolate notes. The flavors of that coffee come through amazingly - as another review stated - better than the best coffee beer AND best coffee I’ve ever tasted! There are some chocolate and roasty notes too, but nothing tastes as good and shines through on this impy stout like the coffee. Then the body, like Hunah, is creamy, thick but smooth, and perfectly carbonated. That creaminess with the coffee notes are soooo good.

Off the nitro tap @ Red Light Red light, during RBWG. BOOM! Is this a flavor bomb or an aroma bomb? Can’t decide. This thing is, hands-down, one of the best stouts I’ve ever had. When I poured it into my (large) snifter, the head came up thick, creamy and dense; very dark brown in color, too.
I took a whiff and got some of the richest, most enticing coffee notes I’ve ever smelled (on coffee or beer). The weasels did a bang-up job on this batch. The appearance was definitely trade-mark zhukov: viscous, heavy, dense and darker than a black steer’s tuckus on a moonless prairie night.
The taste is phenomenal: bitter chocolate, COFFEE, some very subtle licorice, light vanilla. You immediately notice the staple dark amber coating on your glass after you take the first sip. Amazing beer! The back palate lingers with some notes of coffee and dark fruit.
Thanks to Joey, cheeseman, GoT and everyone involved in making this happen.

Growler shared at the District. Joan Jett black pour with a chocolate head. Rich coffee and chocolate aromas. Big roasted malt, thick luscious chocolate, vanilla, and decadent coffee. Huge body with great balance. Reminds me so much of Alesmith Kopi Luwak. Just freakin outstanding....

(Nitro) Pours an opaque black body with a creamy khaki head that provides a spectacular cascading effect in the glass. The head was so creamy you could tell who was drinking it with their tan mustaches. Aroma of dominating coffee, roasted malt, raisins, and chocolate. Flavor is massively coffee and roasted malt with chocolate, toffee, raisins, and molasses with a creamy mouthfeel. Probably the best mouthfeel I have experienced in a beer.

Growler: The aroma is loaded with roasted coffee with vanilla and dark chocolate. If you like coffee, this aroma is tough to beat. It pours a dark brown, virtually black, with almost no head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of chocolate and vanilla. There is some light fruitiness (plum) in the background. The finish is loaded with roasted coffee and vanilla. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Believe the hype...if you like coffee.

From a CC growler. Black color/ lingering light brown head. Insane, awesome, medium roast coffee aroma with chocolate, vanilla. With out a doubt the smoothest, richest mouthfeel ever in a beer. Fantastic fucking flavor of rich, smooth, light roasted Kona coffee on Zhukov’s deep roasted malt and chocolate base. Until i sample The Shit, THIS is Thee Shit. Thanks again Ira for sharing!

This poured a straight jet black color with a very dark tan to brown head. This stuff was extremely viscous, just like the regular version, very oily. Aroma was fresh dark roasted coffee, lots of herbal notes, chocolate, vanilla and lots of dark roasted malts, just awesome. Flavor was just as great as the aroma, lots of freshly roasted coffee, slightly burnt, sweeter chocolate, roasted malts, and very herbal hops notes. Just excellent stuff.
