(Draught at GABF) black as hell, dark tan bubbles, and coats the glass like motor oil. Nose of sweet coffee, so rich, caramel, cinnamon and fudge. Wow this is one of the best smelling beers ever. Taste of fudge, espresso, cigar tobacco, vanilla, so roasty, fresh, and lots of ground coffee beans. The body is thick. This is just one AWESOME beer and the line at GABF proves everyone else thought so too.

Pours deep, midnight ebony, from a hand bottle shared by wetherel (thanks, buddy!): A thick aroma of whole bitter coffee beans that were just dug up from fresh, rainforest earth (I know it doesn’t work that way, but just go with me here). Tons of espresso, dark malts, heavy dark chocolate, blackstrap molasses, and some barnyard vinous qualities. Flavors of charcoal bitters, bold espresso, mocha, and alcohol, all complemented with soft bubbles of carbonation. Drinkability: Stunning quality, almost effortless. Pairing: Veal rib chop with asparagus, smothered in bearnaise. Rebuy: Duh. #422 on 23042010, DG.

On draft at redlight redlight. Son of a bitch, this stuff is delicious. Smells of a smooth, fresh roasted coffee with a slight hint of a caramel sweetness. Pours a gorgeous, thick black with a thin tan head. The taste, oh my god the taste... rich roasty stout with a strong coffee bitterness and thick layers of bakers chocolate. Lingers for quite sometime. Hints of toffee and the caramel from the nose. Overall, this is an amazing stout. If you get the chance to try this limited run from the geniuses over at CCB, you better take advantage of it or forever regret it.

Nito keg at redlight redligh. Pours black, opaque with dark tan head. Lots of coffee and roasted malts in the very enticing nose. Very wonderful flavor. Smooth and drinkable with a little bite in the finish. A little sweet with a good bitter coffee punch. Just a really amazing beer. I guess you can make good beer out of poop.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2010 #100. Big thanks to CheeseMan from a baby growler. Pours black as night with not much of a head. Nose is full of coffee, roast malts. Flavors are same as the nose with dark coffee flavors, roasted malts, slight vanilla and a nice bitter finish. Flavors are so rich and creamy. Mouth feel is really viscous and coats your mouth. What a GREAT beer!!!

Growler shared by pantanap at pre-GTMW 2011 tasting, pours pitch black with a nice full brown head, aroma is intense with coffee that over takes your senses, the flavor has so much coffee on the front end but it works very well because it is balanced out with a nice amount of chocolate in the finish, very smooth and enjoyable, by far the best thing we had tonight, thank you for sharing!

Growler at RBWG. Thanks whomever brought this. Aroma of vanilla, dark coffee. Wow, rich, thick, and bold. Coffee and vanilla. The same ashy flavor as regular Zhukov but smooth as hell through the finish. Oak, vanilla and coffee... Amazing

Poured a pitch black sludge that stains the glass sides, when it touches it. Aromas of fresh roasted malts, and roasted coffee. Tastes like an cold cup of strong coffee, with some vanilla, chocolate, and no bitterness what so ever. Doesn’t taste like this beer should be 11%, and really good overall, very surprised on this one, and amazing.

Nitro, RBWG. Large mocha brown head atop black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, coffee, some raisin/cherry, bittersweet chocolate, cream. Taste is moderately sweet, coffee, raisin, some dark chocolate. Smooth/creamy full body with alcohol well contained. A pretty amazing Coffee IS, though I guess this rating makes me a homer.

Another gem courtesy of KAN! Poured basically black with a lovely cap of dark tan head. The aroma picked up a whole bunch of delicious coffee and roasty black malts, with touches of vanilla, nutty, and earthy notes.. excellent nose! The flavor was somehow a notch better, and consistent with the hype machine.. delicious coffee throughout, accented by burnt chocolate and molasses.. heavy roast, but the balance held perfectly.. more coffee and warm boozy undertones on the finish.. absolutely no complaints. Heavy-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. a lot of coffee, and even more deliciousness!
