For the style prob any worse beer I had in France. Taste more like a lager with alcohol flavors. Not good at all. Not malty. Not toasty. Bitter like a pale ale lager. Pass for sure ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Huge, very dense & fine yellowish head over hazy orangey-golden beer. Sweet nose, with initially quite some vanilla, then more vegetable, spice and a certain acidity suggested. Sourish vegetable/fruity taste; some citrus, but also a bit of vinegar. Pickles? Some toasted malts, not sweet. Acidthinning, light body. Production artisanale? That’s a nice way of saying it tastes like homebrew. Merci à Mathieu!

Bottle from a Deli in Samoens, France. Pours golden with a white head. Not much aroma. Some yeastiness. The taste starts sweet with spice, citrus, butterscotch and a little vanilla. Pretty good.

Special because quite strong with just a few aromas containing caramel, sugar, vanilla and some butter. Still easily drinkable but not that wide in range as expected.

Bottle from Calisky - many thanks, Fred! The beer pours out in a deep hazy golden-amber colour with steady head and medium body. Aroma of Belgian yeast and wheat. Taste of gentle Belgian yeast, bread, wheat, raisins, dried fruits, caarmel and straw. Yeasty-malty sweet finish with a high alcohol finish. Nice one.

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2015 Very strong for a blond beer but surprisingly good! We can also find a back taste of lemon. Not "heavy" at all for a 8% beer!

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2014 330ml bottle served in a La Trappe chalice. I’ve bought three bottles pack in a Carrefour supermarket at Divonne-les-Bains, France. A: Pours a golden yellow to orange color. Slightly cloudy. Forms a medium and thin bubbled white head. Medium to low retention and some lingering and molasses lacings left in the glass S: Very sweet. Quite fruity too. Strong notes of candy, honey, orange peel and chestnuts. Sweet grains and bready yeasts. Some spicy notes, maybe some pepper. Light notes of alcohol to such a "high" ABV T: Sweet in the mouth too. Strong notes of honey, candy sugar, orange peel, sweet malts, chestnuts, vanilla. Mild but present bitterness. Good bittersweet balance M: Medium to heavy body. Quite light to a 8% beer. Fruity bittersweet aftertaste O: Good drinkability. Good surprise for the ones expecting one more shitty french beer. Perhaps a bit too sweet and the chestnut taste is also a bit overwhelming but, in overall, an interesting Strong Pale Ale with a unique character [ BA Review @ 9/14/2013 ]
