3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 ultraspank (866) - Dublin, Ohio, USA - MAR 18, 2006
Happy Day after St. Patty’s Day! After finishing up at the Smokehouse last night, we
meandered over to the Winking Lizard. This was my sixth brew of St. Patty’s Day. This
brew had the misfortune of being sampled immediately after the Jacobite ale from the fine
brewers of Traquair notoriety. Kinda reminds me of the day I test drove an Acura RSX
immediately following a white knuckled, sweaty palmed joy ride in a Subaru WRX. Nose
of wheat, sour yeast, & citrus. The brew pours a medium amber is an average frothy
white head that is mostly diminishing without much lace. The sweet flavor has ok balance
but is easily forgettable. The light to moderate body is lively and dry.

[Bottle]
This poured a nice orangish golden color with a very nice head. The aroma right off gave that is was a Belgium then I got a underlying off smell Metal. This was too strong so when I gave the first tatse it was a good belgium ruined wtith a overwhelming metalic taste. The metalic taste was hard to shake. I hope this was just the one batch and the rest are ok. I will try again one day.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerPrince (1701) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 15, 2006
Cloudy orange/yellow with a small white head, some sediment. Sweet malt aroma with some fruit and some spice. Taste is rather sweet, honey like with little hop or spice, but the higher abv is well masked. A little sweaty at the end with some bitterness. Easy drinking but not on par with a lot of the great Belgian Strongs out there.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 harlequinn (2745) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - FEB 8, 2006
Pours a somewhat grainy golden color with an interesting frothy head, that is decent in appearance. Aroma is somewhat floral with hints of yeasty dough followed by some acidic fruitiness. There is some alcohol in the flavor, fruit rinds and malty flavors resembling some doughy bread. Not alot of flavor but enough to be somewhat enjoyable. Not my favorite, but worth trying.

Clear pale golden pour with a wispy-lacing white head. Dry, lightly sweet mildly floral Belgian malty aroma. Body starts with a pleasant floral sweetness with orange zest and a drier earthy finish. Nicely balanced and drinkable, but nothing too exciting.

Golden color, bready, cookie dough nose. Big malts that are semisweet, rich tasting.

No aroma, yellow with a huge head. The head is dry, the beer is smooth but a little bland. Reminds me of a witbeer just with more alcohol, esp. in the fumes.
