very malty aroma, almost like a sweet wort before brewing. Sweet honey taste with molasses and a good hop backing, bitterness towards the end, some kind of bock.

Sampled at Le Sois Bock in Paris, France. Light Golden. The nose varied throughout but was very enjoyable providing periodic whiffs of different fruits (grapes, lemons and apples) but then switching to a more dry and herbal base with whiffs of hay and flowers. Solid in its flavor. Very solid. Sweet and very fruity with notes of coriander, tangerine and peach, also some sugars perhaps. A toasty malt body in the backround.

Pours a cloudy orange/yellow with a small white head. Sweet malt aroma with a slight fruitiness. Taste is sweet and malty with a light honey taste, moderate bitterness in the finish, and some subtle hops for balance. Doesn’t have the spice of what I imagine a belgian strong to have, but still a decent high ABV brew.

Overall this is a very unusal beer that goes down very smooth. It has hints of grape in it and is very thick on the palate. A really good beer that I would recommend. it really didn’t fit the belgian strong ale style to me.

when in chambery, france we went to the grocery store. this is the first beer that stood out on the shelf....not because it was a strong ale at 8% but because it has an abominal snowman on the bottle hmmmmm? thats where it all started. this one stood out as one of the top 2 most different beers i had on our trip. curious that others either love it hate it...i thought it was rather good. nose of malty sweetness and herbal extasy. a plant like feel to the nose almost soil earthiness. in your mouth it doesnt follow the normal palate it is slik and fast and comes out of the gates screaming like a whipped child. some fruit of darkness (the band) and a wimsical feather of basil or reefoot. the alcohol wasnt really present moreso as the beer warmed. not something you can drink many of but definately worth a whirl around the filiform....since then im naming my first child YETI....we kid because we love.

After finishing and attempting to review Yeti, I feel like a phoney, a failure, a fraud, a fool...there was no way I could pin down any exact associations for the flavor of this brew...it was so unique, so elusive, I couldn’t be anything but impressed...and depressed by my inability to name it! Appearance: a clean, bright, shiny amber hue, with a smallish white head. Aroma: utterly unique! Sharp. piney, open, alive, and...strange...I’ve been stuggling with it for days now, for the memory of it’s flavor returns, but it’s so hard to nail! Not too sweet, and not at all sour, candyish, without coming near cloyingness, and a trifle fruity, without resembling any particular fruit I know. This oddness about the aroma continues throughout the flavor, and I’m utterly dumbfounded. No mistake, it’s good, and tasty, but utterly foreign to any sort of associations I could muster up! No part of my paltry wits can piece it together!...but I try...a blend of fruit and vegetable, a hint of herb, light, but flavorful, with a long, tasty finish. The 8% ABV doesn’t show up much, and the flavor is memorable, if too mystifying to categorize. I don’t know what category this "truly" belongs to, it’s in an order of it’s own. Glad they found this Yeti!

Golden coloured. Fruity aroma. Very sweet and boring flavour. Rather light bodied.

Honey sweet amber ale with Belgian notes. Creamy mouthfeel and a herbal bitter finish. The sweetness is crude - the mouthfeel is bland, fat and oily - only the herbal bitterness keeps this beer drinkable, and even that becomes like chewing lavender after a while - interesting at first, but the initial interest soon fades as the perfume starts to saturate and irritate the palate. This is an ugly bastard of a beer. Cloyingly sweet. Crude alcohol. Bland, oily mouthfeel. And irritating perfumed herbs just to rub things in. The more you drink the worse it gets - and I kept drinking in the hope of it getting better! The bouquet is the only decent thing about this abortion.
