Very light golden color. Creamy thin head traversed the glass. Light, yeasty. What a summer brew. Fruity, candy like. I think I could knock back a few of these on a hot summer day. Cheers Per

Beautiful clear bronze colour, decent head to start with, fading however and leaving some OK lace. Smells a bit raisiny, spicy and yeasty and a bit floral (hops). Sweetish and raisiny (and a bit toasty), with a fair bit of spice. Packed full of flavour, slightly cloying, syruppy mouthfeel, but balanced by the hops at the end, tasty.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2003 Very nice golden color. It had a head that was slightly creamy white with a small amount of lacing on the side of the glass.Aroma was slightly malty some hops, with an almost lemon grass smell to it with a definate coriander smell in there.Nice small bubbles from the carbonation floating to the top.The flavor was malty sweet, very spicy with coriander, orange peel and maybe some apple.Gussler might be correct taste like ripe or over ripe apple.Very pleasant.nice after taste of spiced apple some dried orange and sweet malt.Mild carbonation that works perfectly for this brew. The alcohol is very well hidden,it is undetectable. The finish is sweet fruity and just all around good as hell.By the looks of it this brew isn't that available to ratebeerians but if you can get some plz do it's well worth the experience and even more well worth the money.I gotta give this a perfest score its just so drinkable and so good that i can't say anything bad about.it's very well done.

Belgian strong made in France, and they don´t have to be embarrassed, they probably have a much better water in the Savoie than in Belgium. Anyway this ale has many influences from the Abbey style but don´t try more than one if you are going down-hill the day after!

The beer as it sets in my St. Bernardus glass is a scintillating golden amber color, the head miniscule and what is left after it evanesces leaves a patchy sheet of lace. The aroma of over ripe apples comes to mind along with a bit of malt, citrus fresh and clean. Start is sweet, malt laden, the top middling in its mouth feel with the finish biting in its acidity, the hops spicy in their presence. The aftertaste quite dry and long lasting with a trace of alcohol bitterness, quite a nice beer and a great change of pace from the normal French beers.

Beautiful bronze colour. Fruity and yeasty aroma with a touch of citrus. Full bodied and a bit sweet. Tastes like a basket of fruit; apricot, mango, melon...... No alcohol flavour whatsoever. Extremly smooth and drinkable.

Very nice flavor and texture. Smooth to drink and extremely nice in the mouth, but with complex body.

this beer looks like a miller light. However, and more importantly, its a very drinkable beer. Nice and yeasty aroma, real fresh. I hardly would believe the beer contains 8% abv, as its covered so well by the nice creamy taste and velvety soft mouthfeel. For a beer that looks so weak, it really was a pleasure to drink

creamy with a clove finish, and just looks awful. I like it but basically I’ve had it before, it’s nothing to write home about

Golden coloured. Very aroamtic fruity nose. Full bodied and dryish with very complex flavours. Pleasant, bitter and flowery finish. An outstandingly flavourful ale!
