Amber colored pour with medium sized head. Nice sweet caramely aroma with a sweet spicy finish. I enjoyed this.

Bottle, 250ml. A clear dark brown colour with a small head. A sweet, malty aroma. Taste is very malty with chocolate, bread, some raisin and a hint of spice. Moderate carbonation. A quite sweet, malty finish. After having Ciney Blonde, I wasn’t expecting much from this; but although the aroma isn’t great, the taste is pretty good. A little too sweet though.

UPDATED: SEP 28, 2009 Bottled. A dark brown coloured beer with tan patches of head. The aroma is malty with fruity raisins and brown bread. The taste is fruity and malty with the same raisins and breadiness. A little late sourness also. Decent enough.Score 3.4 Subsequent rating scored 3.5. Average unaltered

Dark brown colour. Very smooth, easy drinking beer. Initially a bit bitter on the tongue but it’s followed by a sweet and slightly roasted taste and has aromas of ripe fruit.

Pours a brown color with ruby highlights and a thin light brown head. Aroma of malt, chocolate and nuts with a little something off and unpleasant but not too disturbing. The flavor has chocolate, nuts and malt with again that unpleasant element that feels a bit weird. The body is light to medium with a creamy texture and soft carbonation.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2007 Sugary, kiddies’ jelly fruit snout. Glassily clear red pour with a thinning slick of bubbles. Thin and watery for a Dubbel. Possibly slightly licoriced. Some horribly stale burnt sugar/cardboard notes. Partially redeemed by some pleasant whiskeyish graininess and aromatic bread in the finish, but it’s too little too late. Far from great Bruin/Dubbel.

Bottle. My same comments from the blond: I was worried about it tasting mass-produced but I was pleasantly surprised. A good bier I would order again. Nothing special but a good quality option.

0.25l bottle at home. Rubi colored with brown tone. Thin beige head with some lacing down the glass. Malty caramel aroma. Sweet taste with some very light hoppy bitterness but not enough to balance sweetenes. Decent brune.
